as it could be a number of things, did you update to the latest version and restart your phone just in case?
or make sure that 자동 친구 등록 (auto-add friends) is checked? |

Check if your number is put in the profile section in settings correctly. My friend put his in wrong and couldn't get anyone. If you put a number in already, and cant change it, you have to uninstall it and reinstall. After you can re-input your number |

I updated today and KKT has now an English interface. Nice. Now if NateOn etc. could just follow... |

I really like Kakao's user interface. Much easier to type than Beejive (where you press the send button by mistake all the time.)
I've notice the service lags though. Sometimes 30-45 minutes will go by from the time a message is sent until it is received. |

It was automatic, maybe because it used my phone language settings? I love it when that happens |

Ah, now I see it. I had KKT from the T-store so it was only Korean even with the update |

is there any way to change the names on the contact list in Galaxy Kakaotalk?
On iPhone there's an option to let you change someone's name.
some of my friends have weird names and I often don't know who is talking to me, especially since they change them so much.
also, how do you delete someone off the list? you can block them, but is that the only way? |

By default the program will scan the contact list on your phone and automatically add friends whose phone numbers are Kakaotalk users. You can disable this in the settings, but other people will still add you automatically if they have your number saved in their phones.

I can't find a way to do this, but I agree this would be a very nice feature to have. I have a couple of people on my list with silly nicknames and pictures and I have no idea who they are.
I've actually been using Kakaotalk less and less these days. Seemed like a nice idea at first, but it's just not as reliable as old fashioned text messaging. I've had a few messages that were sent to me that didn't show up until hours later. Alerts also haven't worked correctly on a few occasions. Another thing that bothers me is that there's no way to tell if a person is actively using the program or not. If a person deletes the program from their phone they'll still stay on your friend list forever and you can send any number of messages that they will never receive. There's also no way to know if a person is using Kakaotalk on a phone or an ipod touch/ipad (which they likely won't check nearly as often). |

i use it and people come up in the 'friends?' that i swear i've literally never met in my entire life
like some adjossi dude who must be 45
and a bunch of girls who never talk to me
and some weird guys too
i don't really get it, i haven't had my phone long so there's no way i've given my number out drunk to all these people |
