Hi. I taught in Korea for 18 months at an elementary-aged hagwon, and am up for a different experience. I was looking for someone to give me a rundown of the positives and negatives of various English teaching positions. For example, public schools, kindergarten, universities, business students, and any other category. Where do you find jobs teaching adults (non-university)? Thanks |

Let me guess, you couldn't find the FAQs?
After 18 months in Korea I am surprised that you don't already know that answer. Spend a Saturday night at the nearest expat watering hole and you will certainly get your answer.

while I appreciate your reply, you could have at least provided a link. What if I couldn't find the FAQ?
then you direct me to a bar, and I'm not even in Korea.
thanks anyways. If anyone would like to provide actual information, I'd be thrilled. good day |

You forgot to mention University Language Centers, commonly referred to as Unigwons. IMHO, the best teaching job in Korea outside of the true University gigs.
-Usually split shifts
-still have to teach 2 kid classes a day
+Stability and security that the University brings to the table
+University setting and the fringe benefits that go with it
+4 weeks vacation
+only have to teach 2 kid classes a day-the other 3 are adult
+Usually split shifts(I used it to my advantage) |

Nope, not even tefl certification, although they usually want some one in Korea already and with at least one year under their belt. But not always!!!
Sadly, I just had to tell my director I can not re-sign due to family obligations. |
