Found Beer Lao in Homeplus in Busan a month or two ago. They also had Bia Hanoi, Saigon beer, and San Miguel dark, which was also good.

It was the same price at the Ori Homeplus in Bundang yesterday. Think I'm gonna have to go pick up some more.

I went back today and bought 15 more. I was going to buy them all, but I thought I should leave some in case someone saw this thread and went looking for some.

I left a handful (mainly because I was worried about my backpack straps snapping) at Ori after grabbing a fresh dozen. Go get'em! It's pure gold after living mainly off the fizzy urine Koreans call beer.

@Smudger,

So you're the w@#*%r who bought all the Beer Lao...just kidding! I picked up a couple bottles on Sunday. I've heard great things about it though never tried it before. I'm sure it tastes better whilst lying on a boat floating lazily down the Mekong, but it's a hell of a lot better than Cass/Hite/OB.

Wow, seriously have any of you guys lived in SE Asia and been forced to endure drinking that crap?
Why oh why would you think beer Lao is a good beer? I wasn't suggesting that I enjoyed drinking Chang, either. It is hideous, yet preferable to beer Lao.

Also, as I am not American, I have no interest in drinking Budweiser, Miller etc.

Anyway, each to their own, right?

Enjoy your beers. I guess it's a good thing that you have found the beer you like for a good price.

It's not the best beer but it sure is much better then Korean crap... I grabbed a 12pk a month or so ago from the Centum City Homeplus in Busan. Would be nice if they carried it more often!

I buy Chang because its so much less expensive than the other beers in Thailand such as Singha.

and it messes your head up nicely Twisted Evil

Nothing like a good Chang-over on a hot, humid morning in Bangkok. The sights (hookers, trannies and beggars), sounds ("You! You my friend! Where you go today? I take you nice massage/friend jewellery store/see Buddha") and smells (fish sauce/nam pla mixed with sewage) really suit it nicely. All part of the experience.

But I'm going to side with popular opinion and say Beer Lao is about a million times better than Chang. Sadly I'm yet to see it in my local HomePlus.
