|
|
i'm teaching wall-e for our winter camp this week and i plan on having students grow their own plants, like the ones wall-e protects in the film.
my coteacher has called around to the florists near our school and they were really unhelpful and told her that there's nothing we can grow right now. i think we can grow something as long as there's sunlight and the students take the plants home to their heated apts.
if i were in the states, it'd be easier since i'd know all the seeds at the store and could talk to the store clerks about it. i was wondering if anyone has done this and what seeds they've used.
i've read that beans grow the fastest, and perhaps i could just use the dried ones you buy that they mix into rice...i know the foreign food market carries a lot of beans, but i'd love to pick them up at my nearest emart instead of trekking out to itaewon if possible.
any advice or ideas? thanks! |

Vegetable seeds worth trying include corn -- 5 to 7 days; cucumber -- 7 to 10 days; lettuce -- 7 to 10 days; and watermelon -- 5 to 7 days. To ensure success, plant your seeds in moistened seed-starting mix and have students keep them indoors |

I always thought kidney beans grew fast. All they need is a a wet paper towel in a cup. They don't even need dirt do they? |

it seems like beans is the thing. can you just buy the ones at the store intended for eating or do you have to use special ones? |

Certain types of bamboo grow very quickly - Yellow groove or Henon would be your best bet. |
