What's the best way to find a language exchange partner?

Go online or advertise locally?

And, does anyone have any positive experiences finding good language partners?

Thanks.

I've found the best lanuage exchange teachers are a)teachers themselves or b)language education students. That being said, I do believe you must be proactive in a language exchange. You prepare what you want to study. You gather the materials. You ask the questions. etc...Otherwise, your partner will just use you, intentionally or not, for English.

You can find a few with Google.

Here's a good one.

But it really depends on which city you're in.

Another option is to post a notice at a local university. Find the bulletin board for the language department. You'll find quite a few language partners.
