No set date yet. I'm looking at private school positions and am being very picky. Trying to avoid some of the horror stories I've heard. I'd like to be there around March 1st but we'll see. I'll keep looking until I find something I feel good about.....

Ok, I'm now in Korea and everything worked out fine. I brought 3 months supply of my meds. Answered "no" to past medical hx of anxiety/depression on all health questionnaires. During my medical exam, when the dr. asked me about Rx meds I was really vague, I said something like I've taken some meds in the past for sleep, but not regularly. Nothing showed up in my blood/urine tests (they did both). I was taking citalopram (only 10 mg but don't think it matters) and seroquel at the time. Now I just need to find someone to continue my prescriptions and sounds like that should be ok, too.

I saw your post there and I was wondering could you give me some advice about bringing antidepressants in to Korea. Ive got a job with EPIK and I'm flying on Feb the 16th its only a week away, I'l have a years supply of medication and a doctors note with me also. I have been taking medication on and off for 3years so I'm well used to dealing with depression. But this is my first time going to South Korea and the horror stories are alarming me

-Will customs find it in my under luggage?

-I lied on my application form about history of mental illness. Should I lie in the medical test when I arrive?(I'l stay off meds a week prior).

-I take 20mg of fluoxetine every few days do you think it will show up in the test?

If you could reply to this as soon as you get it I would really reallly appreciate it.

Thanks a million

Wink

Yes you should also lie when you get to the hospital

There are other threads in this site that list places you can go to confidentially get your meds and also be treated if necessary. They are all called International clinics and the best place to go is Seoul.

When asked if you take any medication, say no. Put your prescription in your suitcase. No one will care. I recommend having it in its original bottle or blister pack if possible.

Customs won't check your luggage for medication, but just to be sure have it in its original bottle.

-keep lying, Korean's don't want to know it. They want a "Healthy" person.

-I don't know, but if you can, lay off of it for a bit before the test.
