| PS- Korean male here, looking for language exchange in Gangnam! Hell, I'll even settle for a food/eating buddy! |
I'd love to lend a hand, but I'm not sure whether I'll end up in Seoul and Busan. Nonetheless, if I end up in Seoul, just give me an e-mail address and I'll be glad to help you out.
Have a great day,

All the other stuff aside, I think the bolded makes troll a certainty. |

Haha, I didn't even see that until you bolded and quoted it. Surely that was a joke, right? If that wasn't a joke, then maybe "language exchange partner" really means something else... |

Ah yes, how I have missed Dave's, repository of all that is noble in the human breast and not at all an outlet for the existential smegma of our species, surely none of which is grander than the ESL teacher, and as we all know, the ESL teacher in Korea most of all.
1. Is she "hot?" This I take as a reference to her physical type - the four categories into which all people may be grouped, according to their body type and metabolism kinda thang. The western equivalents might be either choleric, sanguine, stoic and the other one, which I forget, or perhaps endomorph, mesomorph, ectomorph and the other one, which I forget. (Is there a fourth type - maybe just combinations of the others, can't be too careful on Dave's, bound to be some smartalec who will pounce on any foibles).
I would say she is an ectomorph, a sanguine. She says she is the second type according to recommended diet - you know, the whole hot-cold thing.
Mi-Ran would prefer an endomorphic, sanguine language exchange and "hang out" partner, but makes it quite clear that any combination of these factors would be suitable. What she does add, voluntarily and with no prompting from me, is that she would prefer it if her exchange and hang out partner is not a "DICKWAD" or a "jerk-off" - her words.
To the extent it is relevant I would describe her face as "angelic" - and she has long straight black hair, almond-shaped brown-black eyes and a flawless complexion, all of which are so rare in the Korean female today. Did I mention she was petite? She is also shy and prone to giggling, which you find either endearing or infuriating - or I suppose somewhere in-between (can't be too careful on Dave's, some smartalec ... you know the rest
2. Ah yes, how naive and Canadian of me to post some vague personal details of a young woman. I can see now how someone - having her name and email address, and knowing she is 25 - would use that information to single her out, stalk her and perhaps even commit unspeakable acts on her ectomorphic person.
Thank you for pointing out these characteristics as Canadian. Does anyone want to wager the writer is American? I wonder if he (she) has her sights set on acquiring an automatic weapon and going postal, in a Safeway parking lot perhaps. Or writing "FAGGOT" in all caps after this posting of mine.
Let's think this through. Some American misfit in Korea decides to exploit my naivete. They write to Mi-Ran, make an appointment, and then somehow swing it that she accompanies them ... where precisely? Why not just go to any number of Korean dating sites and do the same from there?
No, I will not "expunge" my posting you pretentious silly person, I have used it to drop to my knees and thank Dog for being in Vancouver, where I have many options to meet and enjoy the company of normal people. There are many normal people in Korea, and some of them are even ESL teachers, but the vast majority are not. And yes, I used to be one, in Daejeon, 2001 to 2004 - enjoyed it enormously, gorged myself silly and hiked hill and dale 'til I was pink in the face (but enough about moi).
3. Before I posted this I made it quite clear to Mi-Ran that she was to vet respondents carefully before meeting them. This she will do in the following ways:
A. she will ask for your full name and your Facebook name so she can friend you. If you have fewer than 100 friends she will tick you off the list. She will then read your Wall carefully to get a sense of you, and post on it that she is excited about meeting you for language exchange. She might even write to at least two of your friends asking in a disarming fashion if you are a nice person.
B. She will ask where you work, get the number and phone your workplace and ask to speak to you there. In doing so she will have tested your truthfulness and transparency. I discussed this with her prior to making the posting - really, I did, because as soon as I made this suggestion she responded, "but isn't it dangerous?"
C. I suggested strongly that she take a friend with her to the first meeting - either a male or female friend, to meet either a male or female l.e. partner. The two of them will ask to take your picture, and if you refuse they will not meet you again.
I think that is all for now. Please contact me or Mi-Ran if you are a stable, loving and contented individual, with a sense of humour, are a native English speaker and not a douche sack.
Sincerely,
David Andrew Beattie, 51, Ectomorph Choleric, Hottest Diet Type, East 35th Avenue, Kensington, Vancouver, Brutish Colombia.

This was quite possibly the dumbest thing ever posted on Dave's. |

David, ignore all this tomfoolery.
I would be happy to help your friend out, but I'm not sure of whether or not I'll be in Seoul, plus she would prefer a female. Nonetheless, I'll lend a hand if circumstances permit.
Regardless, good luck to both of you and hopefully your student finds a good language exchange partner and new friend.
Best wishes,

Aren't you the guy who asked whether or not the girls in Busan are hot so that he could decide whether or not to move there? |

The OP was promising but quickly degraded into the land of fallacy.
Should have just called your "student" something ridiculous like Kan Mi-duck but will still give you a plus for the troll attempt. |
