I'm thinking of taking some online courses, specifically, perhaps, this one: http://www.tesolonline.com/courses/without-tutor.php
I want to know if it would actually improve my job options/salary? Do many jobs look for this kind of certificate? I have a Bachelors, but not in English. I also already have some job experience in sweet old Korea.
I know there are probably some better programs, but right now I only have the option for something online. If you have any recommendations for some other online program, that would be good as well.
Also this program offers CTEYL & CTBE Certificate courses in teaching Young learners and Business English. Do you think this would be beneficial to get in addition to the TESOL?
Thanks guys |

You should look into getting a master's degree in English if you wish to improve your salary. |

And one that is not correspondence or online. Outside of Korea many other places won't even give those degrees the time of day. |

Consider taking an in-class course. It will be worth more outside of Korea. There are plenty of TESOL/TEFL certificate courses from American universities that are held in Korea.
As well, make sure that the course has a practice teaching component - i.e. you teach a few classes as part of the course. |

If you are going to/staying in Korea then as long as it is more than 100 hours it won't matter which one or which module you take (other than for personal development).
IF you think you may want to go elsewhere in the future - skip the on-line one and take 30 days to run down to Thailand and get one in-class. Most places discount on-line courses as worthless.
