Good day to you all.
My delightful lady friend and my good self will be starting the joyous SMOE experience next month. I have been perusing this forum for some time and have a deep and profound question.... Is there anybody else from the United Kingdom in the same position? We are just a tad concerned that everyone is from the colonies!
I am a mountain-dwelling Welshman and my lady friend is from the mystical, yet dour West Midlands.
The thought of Seoul's English teaching community just consisting of hat-wearing, baseball loving Americans and Ice Hockey and Maple Syrup loving Canadians frankly petrifies me.
I just want make sure that there are some fellow Brits out there with whom to talk football not soccer, drink anything but Budweiser and are aware of the existence of both sarcasm and irony.
Let me know your thoughts.... |

I'm afraid, Mark, that a lot of our anti-intellectual North American friends are roaming loose in the ROK.......but don't despair....Brits make up the third-largest group, I think, and you should be able to find someone to recite Monty Python sketches with.......indeed, even some of the N.A. hordes can be entertaining company.
My 10 years working with people from all the 7 English-speaking countries has confirmed that there are roughly an equal amount of knobs from each one of them. |

I've not met many fellow Brits apart from my mates that are already out here.
However as well as America you have offended me by calling the West Midlands dour! Therefore I hate you.
Only joking I can take a bit of banter.
Whereabouts will you be living and when are you moving out here?
My girlfriends Welsh and I'm from the W Mids. Went to uni in Manchester.
Nice to hear the words football again applied to it's proper meaning.
Who do you support? (Please not Man U). |

Great surname - my old man's family are from Ynys Mon.
Never met another Welsh person out there in all my time. |

What a 'douche'. or a 'jerk'.
I only know English and Irish people. And one Canadian. Oh and One American as of about a week ago.
Irish seem the most abundant in my life.
But... I'd rather be around the Americans than someone with a writing style such as the OP's... *shudder* |

I'm from Scotland and my mates here are from all over. I really dont understand the mentality of people who come here and only want to kick around with those from your home country. Retarded.
I give you 6 months if you are indeed as much of a tit as your post sounds. |
