Is there something like Everclear in Korea? What is the highest percentage ethanol alcohol available for sale? |

I've never noticed Everclear here. I have seen a variety of 151 proof liqours though, the easiest to find being Bacardi 151. And seriously... if that isn't strong enough for you, then you have some serious alcoholism problems. |

Okay, if Bacardi 151 is around that will do. Do you remember what kind of store it was sold at? My local E-mart doesn't carry any liquor. A wine section, then a bunch of Korean stuff like makoli and cass.
Thank you very much. |

I think I recently saw it at Costco, and a (long) while back I bought it at a Home Plus in Gimpo. It's been a while since I last went looking for it so I couldn't really say for sure where to find it. |

Everclear is illegal to sell/unavailable in my home state, so you would have to cross the border into Oregon to purchase it.
It actually wasn't that big a deal, but it did make it seem like an adventure in a weird way. |

Damn, I thought you were referring to the rock band.
The highest-alcohol beverage you will find is probably Chinese liquor which is called "goryangju" in Korean. It's 50-60% alcohol and it tastes horrible. |

Right. In college we used to have to drive down to Pennsylvania to get Everclear. |

I had hoped that you were talking about the band. |

OR... the OP could be making liqueur. I've made limoncello. The zests of lemons must sit in the everclear for a while, then you add lots of simple syrup. It's 1 part syrup to one part infused everclear, so by that point it's about 95-100 proof. |

I know for a fact Costco in Daegu sells Bacardi 151 and I'm pretty sure I've seen it in a Homeplus/E-Mart here or there. |

With a 'water purifier' and some soju you can 'distill' your own booze....
I know someone who makes his own...the 'water purifiers' are not cheap though. |

How on earth does that work? First, I'm confused by your use of quotation marks. The most one could do is purify their soju. It won't increase the alcohol content (decrease the water content). |

The quotes are because it is illegal to sell stills. People sell 'water purifiers' that obviously can be used as stills.
You distill the soju to make it into pure alcohol 90% or so. |
