|
|
Hi everyone first time posting here. So I am graduating from college with a BA in June and I would like work teaching english in Korea soon after that.
But, the recruiters I was looking at require a copy of my diploma in order to apply. Is there anyway I can apply for a job before I graduate?
Another question I have is about when the hiring season is. I would prefer to work at a public school as it seems to have more certainty. If i have to wait until June to apply will I be out of luck if I try to find a job then?
Thanks for any advice |

From what I've read (I'm in the same boat as you with applying) here is what you can do
" 1. You will need to obtain a letter from your university to state that youve qualified to graduate (completed all coursework necessary) and that you are simply waiting for the degree to be printed.
* This should be as official as possible- on letterhead, signed etc.
* Notarization/Apostille/Consular seal not required.
2. You will need transcripts- these do not have to show you graduated yet.
* Transcripts must remain sealed & stamped.
A letter from your university and transcripts will serve as a temporary placeholder for your actual degree and final transcripts."

And from what I've seen and been told the next recruiting drive is April-June for position starting in August. |

Can you apply for a public school position now = yes.
They MAY hold your position based on what the above poster has said (quoted from a recruiter website). They may not hold one for you (they actually don't hold anything, you just get stuck in a list and the recruiter keeps track of you)
and most recruiters won't talk to you until AFTER convocation and you actually have the degree in hand.
They WILL NOT issue a NOA or visa confirmation number until they have your actual appostiled (K-consulate certified if you are in Canada) copy of your degree and CRC. You will NOT be able to obtain a visa without the actual degree in your hot little hands.
If it isn't ready when they are they will pass you by and you will lose your position (when does your Uni actually issue the degree parchment?).
