Not sure if this is the place to post this but...

<Looking for roommate to share nice, large apartment near Gangnam-station Available immediately. Rent amount minimal / negotiable.
We are currently seeking a housemate to join in a share in a 3 bedroom apartment located centrally in Seochodong, Seoul centrally located 5 minutes from the Seoul Nat'l Univ of Education subway station (it's where lines 2 and 3 meet) which is one stop after Gangnam station. Gangbuk and Apgujeong and a short walk from the Han River. There is also Kim's Club supermarket (24hrs) and Shinsegae Department store, which are both a 5min cab ride away or you can take the local bus (600won)

--OUR HOME--
All bedrooms provide a particularly beautiful nighttime view. The apartment is fully furnished and the available room includes a bed, closet, chest of drawers, desk and chair. There is a modern bathroom (separate standing shower stall), bidet toilet, medicine cabinet.
The living room includes a leather sofa for 4, chairs, antique furniture +decorations, 52 Plasma TV and IPTV, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and a home theater system. There's wireless internet throughout.
The kitchen is large and spacious and also has the added bonus of 2 built-in refrigerators ensuring plenty of storage space and a dining table for 6. Comes with 4 gas-grill burners, 2 electric burners on a central island, water filtration system, and all standard appliances. There's also a Kimchi refrigerator (we don't eat kimchi so we use it for fruits and veggies).
There's a separate space for laundry with a clothing rack that comes down from the ceiling, washer, and separate sink.
The apartment is air-conditioned and comes with Ondol underfloor heating for the colder winter months.
We have a cleaning lady who comes once or twice a week.

--THE BUILDING--
The apartment is located in the prestigious Acrovista buildings in Seochodong. You can Google it to find out more or if your Korean is decent, search on Naver.
Acrovista provides 24-hour security, swipe card access and elevator and stair access to all floors. There's a bike rack outside.
The apartment also comes with a parking space in a secure underground car park. A gym (fully equipped) is also located in the building(swimmming pool, gym, golf and sauna). All amenities are free for residents.
There is a sky lounge in each of the 3 buildings located on the 21st floor. In between the buildings, there's a playground, tennis court, and a sitting area with a small 'water park' with sculptures. I usually go there during warmer months to grade papers.
There are restaurants, cafes, clothing stores, dry cleaners, and a Home Plus located in our building so you never have to go outside to get to these places.
If you order online a lot, they will hold packages at the front desk if you're not home. They even have a fridge to hold perishables (I order lots of chicken breast).

--ABOUT US--
I am a 26y/o male English teacher from NYC and i work from afternoon to night. During the day I usually grade or go to the gym. My housemate is a 31y/o female, museum curator who is generally not at home except to sleep. We prefer a non-smoker and no pets. No preference for age/sex/race.

--RENT--
Cost We share the rent equally for the apartment. Your share of the rent for the apartment is 850,000W per Monthly and Deposit/Key Money(35,000,000W) If the deposit seems steep, we can work out some arrangement to lower the deposit and up the rent. Ideally we want someone who will stay at least 1 year or close to that.
* Maintenance Fee: 1/N
per/month (average) includes electricity, gas, heated floors, AC, internet, Cable, water, cleaning, and building fees. If you are interested in the apartment, please contact me via email or phone. 010-3199-9714 Howie

Key Money(35000000W)

Do you mean 3.5 million or 35 million? If the latter, YIKES! 100 million (35mil x 3) key money for a monthly rental..

I would have been very interested 2-3 months ago. This place is literally right next to my academy! Plus, the building is new, clean and has a ton of amenities all inside the building!

GL, hope you find someone!

With that amount of downpayment and that rent, the total Cheonsay is probably around 450 million. Not too bad for that size of an apartment in that area IF there aren't any loans against the unit and the owners are in good fiscal shape.

Not too bad a deal for someone who wants to live it up and needs proximity to KangNam. For short term hakwoners, this would be a tough one to pull off, though given the 35 million down payment!

Good luck with it.

Yeah I could see the down payment being a problem for newcomers as the typical deposit is 10mil in the gangnam area. I'm hoping someone who's been here for a while to move in.

As I said in the post, however, the deposit can be negotiated. The typical system in real estate is 100K more rent each month for 1mil less key money.

Also for anyone reading this thread, if you know anyone who's looking for a place, please please let them know. Our 3rd room is sitting empty right now.

I thought it was an additional 50,000won/month for every 5million won key money put down.

Ah yes thanks Huck. I originally meant 100K more for 10mil, which would equal 50K for 5mil.

Also, does anyone know another good place to post housing ads? Or how to find a housemate in general?
