I know this is a silly question, but has anyone flown on Cebu Pacific with two pieces of hand luggage? I keep reading you can only have one, so I am wondering......does that mean I can only bring a backpack and no purse?? It seems weird to me, but I want to make sure I am not going to have to leave anything behind at the airport!
Experiences??! |

I had a camera bag & a computer storage shoulder bag weighing 5 kg combined. I flew CP last year, & CP Manila to Puerto Princesa / ITI El Nido to Manila this year. If some Cebu Pacific check-in officer gets overly officious & insists on only one cabin item, have a bag you can put the other item inside. The expression on their faces as you do so is priceless (I actually did this on an domestic Ansett flight in Australia years ago). From memory I think CP have a weight limit of 15kg:
Quote: |
Checked baggage:
Free 15 kgs (allowed weight) on ALL FLIGHTS (except going to Caticlan/Boracay)
Free 10 kgs (allowed weight) for ALL Caticlan/Boracay FLIGHTS
Anything in excess of these maximum weights will be subject to the standard excess baggage rate and may be carried subject to load limitation and safety concerns.
Hand carried baggage:
 Only 1 allowed
 Dimensions
56cm x 36cm x 23cm for Airbus flights
56cm x 35cm x 20cm for ATR flights
 Allowed weight
Free 7 kgs (allowed weight) on ALL FLIGHTS (except going to Caticlan/Boracay)
Free 5 kgs (allowed weight) for ALL Caticlan/Boracay FLIGHTS
Items determined by Cebu Pacific personnel to be of excessive weight or size or of an offensive nature will not be permitted on-board. |

This year they were fussy about umbrellas & wanted them in cargo hold & not carry on. They were removing them at Manila & checking them all through as cargo hold. |

Lots of people had extra small bags such as camera bags, duty free crap and the sort. They didn't make a fuss that I saw. |

IN addition to your hand carry, ALL airlines I have flown on (and they are many) will also allow a purse, and in addition, still allow a laptop, camera case or umbrella as FREE and uncounted carry-on.
Cebu Pacific was no exception and I have flown with them many times.
I would like to add however than they can be absolutely ANAL when it comes to being overweight on the checked baggage. 15kg = OK, 16kg = remove something from the bag and carry it on your shoulder.

The woman in front of me at the Cebu Pacific check in counter, terminal 3 in Manila (December 27, 2010), had her umbrella removed from carry on, by Cebu Pacific counter staff, & processed as check in luggage for cargo hold. They also asked me if I had an umbrella. It wasn't raining heavily, just very light drizzle, so it was in my suitcase. The last time I put a large, wooden handled umbrella separately through check-in, with Korean Airlines, it was broken in 1/2 on arrival/ pickup in Australia. It was raining heavily the day I left Incheon.
Found this in a quick google search on umbrellas & 'new security arrangements' for CP:

And PA too it seems:

The following articles are not allowed to be carried in the cabin. These items must be put in the checked-in baggage : Umbrellas of any type |
