I have only three pages left in my (UK) passport, and will be using a couple of them to visit Hong Kong at the end of this month. Therefore, I will need to get it renewed in the next couple of months. However, I also need to extend my E2 visa with the same employer.
My visa expires in early April, and from what I've read on here, I won't need to jump through all the hoops to extend as Immi are giving people a grace period until 2012 if they're just renewing and nothing changes. I really don't want to mess about with certificates etc. as I'm only extending until late June anyhow.
However... If I want to extend, but I've got a new passport, will that then require all the new documentation for visa extension?
If so, I guess I'd be better off extending my visa on the old passport, then immediately applying for a new one? In which case - How soon before an E2 visa expires can one apply to extend it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments! |
