I'd like to know both good and bad from those who went with Park English (www.parkenglish.com)
What was your experience like and how was your school? |

I used them back in 2006. I was very happy with my placement at a hagwon in Ilsan. I felt their service was great.
I sent my app in with them again a number of months ago, but the girl I worked with in '06 is no longer there. I did not feel they really invested the time in helping me find a job this time around that they did last time. So I found one on my own. |

Great service 08. 09, rather timidly horrible service.
I'd hope they'd have improved by now, only one way
to find out, I suppose. |

After 2008 Park English became unreliable. I'd try to find a recruiting agency that won't ignore you. |

Sounds like something happened with them in the past two years. Too bad. They were great back when I used them. |

If you are American, they will help you. If not, they tell you to go away. |

Late last year I overheard one of the Park English people interviewing a North American female at an eating place in Itaewon.
I'm not being sexist here - I honestly thought the young lady in question should have been dressed up a bit instead of wearing jeans (not trendy ones) and a jumper (sweater) that looked as if she had come off a sports training ground. She wasn't anything out of the ordinary to look at, a bit chunky, but the problem not only was the way she was dressed to get a job but her short and not so relevant answers to the Park person's questions.
I saw her a few days later in Itaewon and she was talking about how she'd got a job and she was asking her friends basically what to do. She had no idea.
I can't help comparing her with people I know who can't get a job in Korea despite their efforts and they know how to interview and know how to teach. Their cvs/resumes should be among the first to be set in the interview pile but they're not in Korea and they're not clueless or that young. |

I actually applied to them a few months ago. As I recall, they didn;t get back to me. That said, I was blanket emailing lots of agencies with a standard email and adjusting a few minor relevant detials for each one... Maybe they cottoned on to that and ignored me? I dont know., but thats as far my experience with them goes
If you need a reccomendation, Im with ATOP (www.atoprecruit.com ), who have been good to me so far.... |
