| If you were smart, you would sell the dvds in either 50 or 100 set increments. Asking someone to take on that massive lot is way too much. It doesn't take much time to gather the dvds together in sets of 50 or 100. Why don't you just tell people that you will sell them in groups of 50 or 100 and then set up an upcoming Saturday or Sunday at the pickup day. No running around all over the place. Just be firm and say that you want to meet up on a certain day. You should be able to get far more money than what you are looking at for that gargantuan ass collection(especially if they aren't rips). I think you are selling yourself short, but whatever. I would take 50 off your hands, but no way the entire lot. No way. |

Yes, I know I'm not being smart. But I'm going overseas, and I don't want to take all of it with me. I already did it once, and it costed hundreds of dollars for shipping alone.
However, since you are the 3rd person to bring it up, I'll consider it now. If at least 4 people are willing to pay 100,000 for 100 DVDs, then I'll start dividing me collection up and do it that way. I guess there are already 2 people who said they would do it, so if I have two more who are willing to take this deal by tomorrow, then I'll do it that way.
I just got back from the post office, and shipping is actually very cheap. The largest box, which can hold about 6 or 7 of these binders, up to 30kg, is only 8,000 won. At this rate I don't suspect it be more than 10 - 15,000 won. And like I already promised, I'll split the cost. |

What if two people want the same movie or movies?
Selling in sets of 50 or 100 only works if the buyers all want different movies.
Also, you mentioned you got most of your dvds from China. Do any of the dvds have scratches in the middle (near the hole in the center of the dvd)? |

Yeah, true, so I'll have to take orders as first come first serve. I'll update the list each time a buyer makes his or her selection. Hopefully with 2280 DVDs, there will be something for everyone. |

| I may have missed this in the thread somewhere, but do you have them stored alphabetically like this (because that would be awesome), or did you just alphabetize them for the list? |

I have them stored alphabetically in binders. It might be hard to tell in the picture (a have a link to the picture of all the binders on 2 metal shelves), but the binders are labeled via letter. One binder is "A-B", another is "C", another is "D", till the end of the alphabet, where a binder is labeled "Q / U-Z" - and inside the binder, all the letters are grouped together as well; so all the Q - Zs aren't just placed anywhere, they are placed alphabetically, all the Qs are together, then the Us, then Vs, etc. Finding a movie is extremely easy, and usually only takes about 5-10 seconds.
The software + database I'm including also make it easy to manage your collection and now exactly what you have in stock, and even if you've seen it yet or not. You can categorize the database via other fields such as language, or genre (if your in the mood for a horror tonight), or director, etc. Pretty much I've made it to a point where finding a movie to watch as well as getting the physical DVD couldn't' be any easier.[/b] |

| Cool, I saw the pic but couldn't read the labels. That's a lot of work. I categorize mine (about 500) by genre, and then alphabetically within each genre. That was a ton of work, so I can't imagine what you went through. |

Actually, cuz of the software, it was pretty easy. I just input the new movies in the software, press "Search & Update" and it does the rest. I add new movies every month, so rearranging it by more than the fist letter and genre would have been exhausting. What I would do is keep a whole binder dedicated to one or two letters, and then keep empty pages in it, so when I get new DVDs, I just enter the name in the software, and then put it in the corresponding binder. The only problem was when a binder with like C-D got full, I would to take out all the Ds and put them in a new binder labeled "D". So taking out and putting back in hundreds of DVDs at a time was a little exhausting. But I always made it fun by watching a movie as I did it
edit: and of course all this is only even relevant if you plan on expanding the collection |

| Current bid as of Jan 20, 6:40pm, is 275,000. Next bid should be 300,000. Final bidding must be made by tomorrow at midnight. I'll then proceed to use the weekend to package the DVDs (if you don't live in Daejeon) and then send them out on Monday. Thanks for bidding so far guys, I know people don't like doing it this way, but I'm still thankful nonetheless. |

Sorry I didn't reply to your question. I just now saw it for some reason.
Just so you don't misunderstand, I said these are ***NOT*** Chinese DVDs. These are DVDs I gathered myself via internal sources and burnt onto high-quality media (no riteks or cheapo brands). I did NOT purchase any in China. I LIVED in China, yes, but didn't physically buy any there. OK OK, maybe my first 10 or so when I first moved there, but then I quickly learned what super sh*tty quality Chinese DVDs are, that's when i raised my standards to retail DVD quality only - which means no telesyncs, or cams, or early preview versions which might have good video but don't have true 5.1 sound, etc. I have a very strict criteria for the DVDs that go in my collection.
Since I started this collection, I've kept them in binders. I abhor bad disc treatment! I could never just leave my cds or dvds just laying around somewhere, stacked on top of each other (unless they are in a spindle), or the like. They are always kept individually in slots in the binder. Very few if any scratches in the set. |

How nefarious.
I should start selling the hundreds of games I have collected via internal sources (whatever the heck that means).
Nice collection, but that's funny. |

Ok, ya'll got your wish. The last bidder I had said he wanted to do the 100 deal rather than buying the set. So due to popular demand, I'll be dividing up the set, and sell them in sets of 120 for 100,000 (instead of 100). If anyone is interested, let me know, and I'll send you an updated list of movies after I minus the ones from the previous couple of people who made the offer. I'll make a new ad to, but just wanted to inform those who are on topic reply notifications. First come first serve for the movies obviously. Thanks for buying. |

Sure, no problem.
On a side note: Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. So I PM'd everyone who said they were interested in the 120 DVDs for 100,000 won deal, and no one responds. Except for someone wanting 50. It would have just been easier to sell the whole set. And I would have been happy to sell the entire thing for even 350,000, but no one came through. This is what I was afraid of, people backing down. Maybe I'm just being too impatient. Well, as it stands, I just barely have time to fill these DVD orders on weekends. So whoever gives me their list of the 120 DVD of their choosing first, that's who the order will go out to first. The list will be updated from then on and reposted here. So it's still on first come first serve basis, but I can't wait around all weekend for the first guy to get send me a list. So I'll fill orders as I receive them. So far, I've received no list from anyone. If you're really interested in 120 DVDs for 100,000, then please send me a list ASAP, and of course contact me so we can swap info (payment and address).
