|
|
I was considering organizing a ski trip for when the weather turns. I was hoping to book a pension. Anyone got anyone got any good suggestions on where to go? Good or bad experiences to share? Inside tips? I've never done anything skiing related in Korea (I actually just really want to sit in front of a fire in a lodge and drink but I am sure others would be pumped to hit the slopes. |

If you're planning on spending more than one day, and it sounds like you are, go to one of the bigger resorts so you'll have enough slope to keep yourselves entertained. I'd recommend Hi-1 (though it'll be ridiculously crowded early in the season I hear) or Phoenix Park (minimally less crowded at least.) |

Thanks for the advice guys. I was thinking it'd be a saturday morning-stay over-leave sunday afternoon sort of scenario. I was hoping to find a minbok near one of those places so we could accommodate the skiers and the people who just wanted to get out of town. Might have to get some korean help on that end of it. |

high one is newer, more centrally accessible runs, definitely good for beginner/intermediates. Advanced/expert runs are lacking, better options at YongPyong, which has fewer crowds on those types of runs. |

i've been to yongpyeong twice, which i've enjoyed. and they do have pensions a couple minutes outside of the resort, as well as lodges on site with the fireplace. went to hyundai sungwoo this past weekend and i liked that as well. have been to muju for a day so didn't experience all there was. from what i've read, it's a good place to go and also there's an outdoor sauna? it's on the list for lunar.

Good luck getting a place to stay, all the tour groups book out the cheap places. |

I know it seems obvious but...get the money up front. As someone who plans and leads dive trips, I have had more than a few bad experiences with people backing out at the last minute.

Muju is just packed and expect to bump into others continually....long lines.
Try Phoenix Park or Yongpyeong. Cheers |
