Hey Everyone,

if you'd like to try out something a lot different and a bit extreme this winter, you can learn how to do some basic ice climb through the only native English speaking climbing service in the Seoul/GyeongGi Province area, Sanirang Alpine Networks on both FEB 26 & MARCH 5.

Anyone can join in on the fun and previous climbing experience, although helpful, is NOT neccessary-- that's what makes this so cool. SAN also rents out the neccessary gear at a cheap and reasonable price, too, for those who of you probably don't have any of the gear to begin with.

This is a great way to get some healthy stimulating excersice and check out the Korean outdoors. These guys do a superb job and are super fun and cool to hang out with and learn to learn from-- they definitely know what they're talking about, too!

If this interests go check out this link for more details:
http://sanirang.net/programs/ice-group-outings/

OR

You can SAN directly or join their facebook page via [email protected] to see tons of pictures to give you a better idea of what this company is all about.

Cheers and hope this heats up your winter a bit!

i plan on going in the next week or 2. Ive been looking forward to it for months.

Are there people there to belay or will I have to pay extra for that? I dont know anyone who I would trust to hold my ropes if they are just learning.

cheers

Excellent point! First off, no extra fee is needed to have people belay you. All sessions are managed by a qualified instructor who teaches proper belay techniques, bomber backed-up belay systems and general ice climbing safety along with a ton of other ice climbing techniques. Don't worry, an experienced belayer is always around to, of course, too. If you have any more questions, please contact us directly via [email protected]. Cheers and thanks for the inquiry!

O2 world has English speaking instructors. O2 world is the world's largest indoor ice-climbing gym. It's badass. Thanks for the info though. There's only so much climbing you can do inside before the audience, the routes, and the synthetic 'fresh air' begin to wear on you.
