Not an option. I got into grad school and the offer is only good for this year. Grad school for my major is very competitive and I got into one of the top schools in my field.

when did you find out about grad school? do you ever apply for jobs, say your're coming for an interview and then cancel at the last second?

I was applying to jobs and waiting for grad schools to get back to me at the same time. I never signed a contract but if I had gotten a good offer I would have and then just bailed if the grad school came through. I don't think that would have been too big a deal.

너 때문에 학원 관계자들이 세시간이나 기다렸네요. 안올거면 미리 연락을 주시던가요. 매너좀 챙기시죠. 그랬다간 제대로 된일 못구하십니다.

$10 per hour X 10 hours per week = $100 dollars per week. Yep, this should be more than enough for housing, living expenses, and tuition. And, to think, some people came here with student loans. Geezzzzz!

Tips, dude. You forgot about the tips.

($10 per hour + $100 in tips per hour) X 10 hours per week = $1100 dollars per week

At that rate she'll be making over $50,000 per year.

$100 in tips an hour is pretty optimistic. I have waited tables before and I could usually walk with about $100 a day. Thats a 4-5 hour shift so figure $200 a week in tips, which does not include whatever the hourly minimum wage is. Thats $800 a month in tax free tips plus about $6 an hour which is another $240. 1K a month would be plenty of money and seems pretty reasonable to me.

I'm sorry to say, but I think it is impossible for her to get a visa. Even the slimmest chance she might have of getting a student visa is ruined buy the fact that you want this done by March. Plus, my wife just said that she looked into studying in the USA but in order to get a student visa she needed over $20,000US in her bank account. NEVER going to happen.

i understand you have something to look forward to with your grad program, but don't you think it's good courtesy to inform the people you cancelled interviews with, at the last minute, that you won't be doing them at all. of course, this is the internet, who cares

In my two years of experience teaching here, recruiters and school directors are all very nice and courteous to you, until you sign their contract. After that they own you, they own your Visa, and they own your life. They couldn't careless about you after they have some power over you. So, I don't really care what they think.

Well after talking it over with the misses it seems like its not going to work. The 20,000,000 won in the bank account rule is the clincher.

Thanks, to everyone who gave me constructive advice!

You just need the money in the account. Her parents might be able to help her out with that. You don't actually need that much money.
