Hi all... i normally rely on my own devices, but just thought since i wanna do this right, can anyone please help me with this?
I am not renewing my contract with my school after many many moons in K-Land, and was wondering if anyone on here did something similar and went back home.... i am wondering about a few things, but the first were Payment... my last public school payment...will that include my severance?? I'm South African, so i dont expect pension monies, but my exit allowance and housing deposit...when exactly do i get those payments?? and ... how long can i stick around in K-land to oversee/manage successful transfer of these funds to me?
i thank all those who can honestly help and for reading thus far... you guys help all expats allot and we are sincerely grateful if i can speak for all those who got any help on Dave's...sorry grammar nazis for any grammatical errors... Thanks Dave for a great site!
regards to all

At my last 2 PS's I received my final salary/severance/flight payment (now Exit Allowance) before my last day at school.
I'm leaving my current PS school in 3 weeks and they're going to deposit my final pay/sev/exit etc into my bank account on my last day. I will confirm this with a 'good bye meeting' with the principal one week before I finish.
Just show your school your flight, and explain that you will be leaving the country on ..... date. Also tell them that you need to be paid before your last day, as you have to send money home and close your bank account etc. You also need to explain that you'll need at least 2 days to ensure that your Korea-Sth Africa transfer was effective (it will be very difficult to fix any Korean banking problems when you are in Sth Africa).
Good luck back home. |
