My upstairs neighbor never sleeps. All night long I could hear footsteps, sounds of doors opening and closing.
Now at 9:20am, they have music turned up loud. I can hear the crappy bass-lines and drum beats.
Since they are always up at night stomping around, I thought I'd wait until I could hear nothing in the daytime to make a lot of noise. Nope. They don't sleep. Ever. |

I used to have that problem in employer provided one-rooms. Getting my own place allowed me to live with better neighbors.
Maybe just knock on the door and introduce yourself. Hi, I'm your downstairs neighbor, I can't sleep.
If your Korean isn't great knock on his door, say your unit number, point to the floor, and make a sleeping motion (hands together side of head).
Some people are ignorant, and polite request. |

Sorry to hear that. At least you're not listening to domestic violence. |

This is the third apartment I've lived in where the neighbors never go to work. Where does the money come from? Who knows. |

As a general rule, in a noisy neighbor situation, one party must move out. You or them. They WILL NOT change their behavior. It is simply a matter of WHICH party moves and WHEN. Furthermore, given the inevitability of all polite options failing, you may wish to proceed directly to the psychopath stage |

Have a few friends write notes in Korean. Use different pieces of paper. The handwriting samples should be different. This is especially efficient if their door is near the elevators. I had neighbors who wouldn't throw away their ever-growing mountain of garbage outside their door. I also drew pictures of roaches with arrows pointing to the mess. My other neighbors saw the notes and added their own, complaining to the building manager. I had my Korean best friend call the manager as well, saying that she was a tenant.
They moved out the next month. |

Surely domestic violence would be better? It's usually restricted to short bursts late at night when one partner has been drinking far less of a noise problem for the OP.
As for getting rid of the noisy neighbour...go upstairs and take a **** on their doormat. Then ring the buzzer, when the guy opens the door punch him. If it's a big guy punch his wife. If his wife is big then punch their kid.
Should send out a strong message. |

I've had neighbors that could fight and argue all night every night. |
