Please any advice would go a long way. Do i go straight there to look for work with no VISA or do i go home and work it out with a recruiter?
I have about 24 hours to decide whether or not i buy a ticket from France to Korea or whether I return to the US to hopefully find someone to pay my airfare there. I am looking for a University spot. |

Almost the wrong time of season to look for a uni position (most of them were recruited in Dec-Jan). You would be at the tail end of the pile.
Uni positions usually require you to be in Korea for the interview (at your expense).
A newbie to Korea without connections will not have a good chance of a uni position unless you are very well qualified (related MA/PhD.)
If you do not have the required documents (copy of degree with apostille and FBI background check (with apositlle)) in hand you have "0" chance at this late date of landing a uni position with an E2. It MAY be possible if you qualify for an E1 (visiting professor). |

Ditto what the above says.
I wouldn't bother coming to Korea without an E2. Here in Daegu, Uni positions are notoriously hard to get - any exiting English teachers at the unis here usually get the positions filled up by their friends. Your only hope would be to find one that's advertising online via the Korea Job Board.
Maybe go for middle school or high school instead? Unis rarely hire people who haven't got at least a couple year's experience and a TEFL. The better Unis will usually ask for a Master's degree, too.
Hope that gives you a bit of info. I'd LOVE a Uni job, but they're so damn hard to get!
