Hi,
If you had a couple of days to show Seoul to some friends what would you recommend to see?
The palaces, Insadong, good kalbi restaurant,......any ideas?
Cheers all! |

Gyeongbok Palace.
I would avoid Myeongdong like the plague, unless they're a die-hard shopper.
Yes to Insadong. Maybe Seoul Tower, to get a great view of the city?
Hongdae for nightlife!
Samgyeopsal or galbi places - anywhere that looks reasonably busy. Wherever the locals go is sure to be good.
Lots of stops in cafes and coffee shops to warm up, too! I'd go to one of the Dog or Cat Cafes where they have the pets wandering all around if I were you
Hope that helps a little bit
Tom

Go to Iteawon road, get a nice cheap discount Big Mac meal from McD's for 3000 Won, go to Starbuck's enjoy a coffee, then hit "What a Book?" just across the street and buy a used Lonely Planet Korea. It has lots of things to see in Seoul and tells you what is important to see. |

Namsan tower is best at night. That stream thing is also a nice evening walk when it is not freezing bloody cold out. |

My younger sister arrived a week ago. This is the scheduled we've been following, so far she has had a great time.
If your friend is female, I can tell you my sister's (Age 23) favorite have been Sticker booths/Galbi/Subway shopping in Jamsil Station/Nori Bang/Dragon Hill Spa.
I hope it helps (^.^)

Pick up 100 Things to Do in Seoul at Itaewon station. There's a lot of things to see in Seoul. I've been about 6+ times and still have more things I'd like to see that I didn't get a chance to see on my weekend visit.
Insadong is a favorite, Myeongdong for shopping, Itaewon for food, Hongdae for night life (clubs, lounges, bars, you name it). Seoul has musuems, cheap food, really expensive food, a really long mall called the COEX with an aquarium and some 4D movie theaters--which I hear are super awesome. Seoul has it all!
Good luck!

Coex is terrible, avoid like the plague. If you want to hit up a mall go to Times Square in Yeongdeongpo. |

Just get on the subway and pick a stop randomly. Trust me, it's really fun. I ended up in a VERY Korean part of town. If you don't mind the constant stares, I'd advise you to go to a real Korean market and look at all the goodies. |

My favorite things to do.......
Jimjilbang (silloam, happy day spa, dragon hill)
eat some good galbi
maybe check out the other areas outside of seoul (I live near Ilsan, check out Lake Park if its warm, western Dom, La Festa, visit the lotte department store, shoot some guns at the Ilsan gun club and go for drinks at Sunny's near Bechtel for an interesting experience)
Anyang Art Park
Namdaemun or Damnameun market
Itaewan (go at night, check out live music-- I liked Olde Stompers when we went for the big battle of the bands)
Hongdae or Sinchon for another night
Something else thats sort of cheap and fun are the Max Rider things that are all over the place, get silly stickers made, do some noraebang, hit up a batting cage.... |
