You must be thinking about someone else, I haven't been here 7 years, more like 3, and I've never talked about what Korean films I have or haven't seen.

At least I didn't spend three years here and not once set foot outside of Seoul.

I know it stings your ego, but the comment made by another poster criticizing it was valid.

I've been to Busan, Daegu, Pohang, Suwon, Seoul, Kyungju, and Gangneung, and plenty of beaches on the east coast.

I haven't been to the kind of places my folks want to go cause hanging out in rural Korea with nothing to do is not my buzz. It's not something to do just for the hell of it, but it will be fun with my folks.

I'm sure I'm not that different than a lot of people here who are quite entertained in Seoul on the weekend. And given that we all work hard and leisure time is precious I see no reason to trip around the country taking up half my weekend travelling when there is a guaranteed good time for me right on my doorstep. Plus it's where the babes are ...

And that's that

I know what my friends *my own age* might like to see in Korea if they come to visit me, but I'd be hard pressed for ideas too if I had to plan an itinerary for someone like my dad or someone his age. I doubt Itaewon would cut it for him. Confused

I wouldn't take my mother in law there! Smile
Every time I come out of the subway exit I feel like like leaving again.

My parents visited me last year for my wedding and my best advice to you is that wherever you go, RENT A CAR. This will make your life so much easier and you can see a lot more of Korea that is otherwise difficult to access by bus, etc.

This will also allow you to make your own itinerary. Consider it seriously.

You gotta love people who almost never get out of Seoul. Dude, 3 years, you should know pretty much everything there is to see here. Its not such a huge country.

I don't have time.

Ever written and recorded a CD? Didn't think so. You stick to your travelling hobby and I'll stick to my hobby.

Well I think that deserves an explanation, don't you?

Kiwiboy, I'm pretty partial to the Yellow Sea Islands myself, especially if you can get there before the summer tourist season. JaWolDo is especially nice, and as a bonus, the minbaks all loan bikes to their guests for free. If you go, make sure you bike over to the North side of the island, it's less developed and has a lot of beautiful grape farms as well as nice ocean views.

From downtown Seoul it's about an hour bus ride (via Samhwa Express) to the ferry port (YeonAn BuDu). JaWolDo is about a 40 minute ferry trip from there.
