Seoul Grand Park and three other zoos in or near the capital are set to reopen tomorrow, as foot and mouth disease vaccinations for animals in the parks have now been completed.
With the worrying spread of FMD and avian influenza in the country they have been closed since early this month and the city of Seoul has beefed up its sanitation and disease control within the zoos.
Seoul Grand Park plans to keep cloven-hoofed and even-toed animals like elephants and giraffes indoors and have barriers installed to prevent visitors from getting too close to the animals that cannot be kept indoors.
Visitors are also advised to refrain from feeding and coming into close contact with the animals.

They should release their polar bear into the wild or put it out of its misery. |

not sure what the zoos are like in seoul bu the one I went to in Jinju was disgusting. Im not entirely against the idea of zoos usually but they had dogs and tigers and all sorts of crap caged up together. The animals were so depressed they couldnt even be bothered to kill each other - including the elephant in a 20m square pen.
Only thing that was missing was a dancing bear (but they did have one in kind of a box).
So thankyou for posting but I personally will be giving it a miss. |
