Just read about the latest annihilation for Queensland - A SECOND storm - the heaviest they have yet to encounter - due Wednesday to spit roast the people for the... 100th time in a month.

These might just be natures warning shots. Hold onto your hats boys and girls. Sure glad I moved out of Mackay a few years back.

I am having a little trouble believing the BOM's Forecast Tracking Map.

My memory of cyclones when I lived in Queensland was that they never followed such a straight line trajectory. Also they rarely hit the Queensland coast from so far out. This one originated way out in the middle of the Pacific at Vanuatu. They rarely travel so far westward. Weather systems in this part of the world generally travel eastwards.

Where's Chris? He has a great knowledge of these things.

BBC stated it would be the worst they've ever encountered, if it hits.

off topic here.
but I mean in the 21st century we are all connected by Radio, TV, Internet, phone etc.. so when we do have a catastrophic event, like 100x worse than the 2004 tsunami which killed like 200.000 people. I mean it will be crazy the magnitude of press we will see on it. katrina, phuket etc.. will be nothing compared to when half of California is under water, or half of japan just got sunk by an earthquake. It will happen one day.
and people will just be sitting at home on their sofas going
"honey check this out"! WHOOOAAAA.

Yeah, we should all get off our asses and start digging for gold instead.

Sitting there going 'woah' about the world is far more useful in the grand scheme than you may think, when looking at American potatoes going 'woah... Anyway I'm hungry for Macdonalds and I don't know where Egypt is'

Before you start calling people names read carefully.

Trust me, I am perfectly relaxed. It wasn't anger that made me write the post, it was astonishment. Astonishment that anyone could make such a daft assessment of another person's post.

No need to worry about 2012, Globus. May 21st 2011 is when the world is apparently going to end.
