Hello,

I'm selling a like new condition iPhone 4 16gig. It's from the u.s. but I am not able to use it in Korea unless I register it. You can search on google for info about that. I don't have the box, manuals etc. All that is in the states. This is just for the phone.

Asking price 650,000 Won
Location: Seoul/Suwon

Call or message: 010 8635 5828

Thanks!

Be aware that an unlocked iPhone voids the warranty of the device. Apple will not give the user any technical support, nor will they fix it if something goes wrong with the phone.

While a unlocked iPhone will work pretty much like any other iPhone in terms of being able to access the Internet, updating the iPhone's software will most likely cause major problems. The same goes for the iPhone Apps store.

If you have any issues with the phone. Just do a factory restore via itunes. Problem solved. Apple can't tell if it was jb/unlocked. Then after, just jb/unlock it again.

Do you mean Jailbroken?

Jailbreaking and unlocking are 2 different things.

Jailbreaking is what voids the warranty, while unlocking means you can take your phone to other carriers/countries.

Yeah, there's a bit of misinformation in this post. As Drew10 mentioned, jailbreaking is what voids the warranty, not unlocking. However, to be user-unlocked (as in, not done by your phone provider), the phone needs to be jailbroken. Being jailbroken is no problem though, because all jailbroken iPhones can easily be restored to factory settings. Also, contrary to what L&MaC's says, you will almost certainly have no problem updating the phone's software or using the Apple App Store. Overall, not a bad price for a used iPhone 4 (in Korea), but not a particularly good price either.

I'm not trying to knock the seller's sale like many do, but I would like to inject a bit of reality.

A NEW 16GB iPhone 4 that works HERE is only 814,000. Then with a contract you get the subsidies and it becomes much much cheaper.

If this were a Korean iPhone 4 contract-free i would say this is a good price, but the hassle of registration isn't worth the price in my humble opinion.

No more crazy certification fees.

I'm well aware of this. I'm also well aware that there is no guarantee (nor has there ever been) on exactly how well your device will work on the Korean networks. When you read that page it says so pretty clearly.

Why don't you try it out? You don't have to sign a contract. Plus, you can keep your iphone. I find it very strange that you bring your iphone to Korea, then decide to sell it, especially since providers will activate it for you.

I never brought an iPhone here. I bought my Galaxy S here last summer. I'm interested to see how this "bring your phone and get it activated here" thing really works out.
