I was just going to leave a message and say it's been about eight minutes since the last "Breaking news! Korea to use robot English teachers!" thread, better get another one up there.

+1

Any teacher who can be repalced by a robot probably should be replaced by one.

I think that if they just installed a death ray in the robot and gave it large chrome plated fists on the ends of it's arms, then the schools could probably do away with the class room monitor as well. How much would a death ray cost anyway? They probably ought to make it a bit taller and intimidating as well. The amount of money they'd save from not having to hire any humans for the classroom would more than make up for the cost of the robots and a sweatshop in a 3rd world country full of overworked, cheaply paid remote controllers.

All death ray questions should be directed at that girl who came here and posted about someone following her with a mind control ray a few months ago. She is to ray guns what ttompatz is to immigration regulations.

I had a C64! Thank God for emulators! The C64 Alice in Wonderland by Windham is one of the best old school games ever. I need to get a USB joystick for my laptop if I ever want to attempt to beat that game...

This bizarre thing is an interesting supplementary activity similar to how a NASA space station video can be, but a funny looking machine singing a, "hello," song simply can't replace foreign English teachers. The reason for inviting us over to Korea is to introduce Korean kids to interacting with non-Koreans in real life so they have the skills to pursue more opportunities later in life for adding more substance to their culture and economic wealth.
