I find this interesting and kind of cool. You see a lot of older people seem to know about all sorts of wild and edible plants here in Korea.
I want to know if there is a book on this in English with pictures, or if there is another way to learn about this stuff myself? I want to be able to go outside and see which plants are edible and pick them. |

never seen this in English. Seen at least three different versions in Korean, though. I'd recommend you find one and a Korean friend to go traipsing the woods and fields with, then you two can learn together. |

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread but what is the grass called that is in bibimbap (sp?) called?
I never thought I'd like eating grass but it does seem quite healthy.
Can you buy seeds or cultivate them in the fridge like sprouts? |

I am interested in foraging back home in the US and would love to pick it up here in Korea however, as always around the world, there is concern about doing so responsibly and sustainably. See this article as an example: http://joongangdaily.joins.com/article/view.asp?aid=1903538
In any case, if anyone in time can recommend a book (preferrably English but even a good one in Korean) it would still be appreciated. |

Picking wild herbs is something that young people just don't do. Sadly, it will die with the older generation. I think the best way would be to just chat to some of the old people who are doing it. Lots of old folks are quite friendly and would probably love to show you what to pick.
If you learn anything, let me know! |
