Just a language thing. It sounded like you were all writing books or making furniture or something Rolling Eyes Producing results though. Nice one

Definition of PRODUCTIVE

1
: having the quality or power of producing especially in abundance <productive fishing waters>
2

3
a : yielding results, benefits, or profits
b : yielding or devoted to the satisfaction of wants or the creation of utilities

4
: continuing to be used in the formation of new words or constructions <un- is a productive prefix>
5
: raising mucus or sputum (as from the bronchi) <a productive cough>

I thought it fit pretty well.... Laughing

No, cause that time off gets deducted from your vacation. Laughing

Only if your co-teacher / VP are dicks about it. They have never deducted the time from me and it is NOT in the (GEPIK) policy hand-book (can't say for sure about EPIK).

Yep...my co-teachers(and me) used every excuse in the book to bail work for hours at a time.

"Native teacher needs to ___________ (is sick, go to bank, send documents, etc., buy a blender)"

"Snacks are out"

"you look tired...maybe we should visit a doctor"

Hell, my head teacher sometimes decided not to show up at all to work some days and extended similar benefits to me.

When renewing for this year (in September) the Ulsan MOE had everyone sign an additional document that simply had the part in the contract about leaving early for bank and stuff get deducted from vacation time. Ulsan MOE is serious business. Though the more serious they get the better I get at getting around their silly rules Smile

I work 1-8:30, so only 7 1/2 hours. However, If I want the free korean lunch, I get there at 12:30..so basically still 8 hours.

I've always been a night owl. My first job was afternoon-evenings, now I work mornings-afternoons. I was wayyyyyyyy more productive with an afternoon shift. I had Korean classes in the mornings, went out for runs, played tennis, blah blah blah. And weeknights out were actually possible if you wanted. Even if you get out at 9 or 10, it's was never ridiculous to stay out until 3 or 4. It's also not as big an issue here as there are a ton of people who work similar hours.

Now I pretty much never do anything until the weekend. I take Korean classes in the evening, but I'm always burnt out because of work. Can't have more than a beer or two without worrying about getting up for work, etc.

But again, that's just because I'm not a morning person. If I actually went to bed at a reasonable time I would probably be just as productive.

I'd take 9-6 any day, but I'm definitely better in the morning. I don't have an issue staying up until one in the morning and being fine at work the next day.
