The mall website's main page has toothpaste for sale. |
It also has computers, pens, pencils, stationery, desks, paper, printing paper, mats, mouse mats, printers, clocks, cartridges, coats, jackets, scarves, hats, jeans, pants, underwear, officeequipment, mens suits, shirts, ties, socks, shoes, apples, oranges, strawberries, dates, raisins, grapes, vegetables, cabbages, carrots..
....and everything you would expect in a normal department store. |
Or a Walmart (looks like the Gazans dress a little better than your typical Walmart shopper, but that's not saying much).
Maybe I'm a snob, but where is the luxury? |

Lets have a look then, in the jakarta Globe..

Easing of Gaza Blockade Leaves Once Thriving Smugglers Idle

Gaza merchants prefer to import legally through land crossings with Israel." |

Gaza is booming.
In fact its now exporting food to Egypt.

Palestinian merchants in Gaza have also been smuggling vegetables, eggs and other staples into Egypt |

Isn't it time we all paid a bit more attention to the millions of people in the world who are really starving? I mean in Africa and elsewhere.
Or will you not rest until Palestinians all own their own yachts and holiday villas. |

Gaza is an independent country. |
So why is it referred to as a "Palestinian Territory"?

That dastardly anti-semitic rag, Haaretz, puts Junior's photo essay in some context...
Quote: |
With Gaza unemployment estimated by the United Nations at more than 40 percent, and by local economists at 60 percent, most of the crowd at Crazy Water are relatively well-paid professionals and employees of foreign aid organizations.
|
That's referring to a water-park. But I would assume that the same discrepancy between luxury clienteles, and general Gaza population, applies to the department store as well.

Because it is territory run by Palestinians?
Incase you hadn't noticed.. it is a self-governing land.

There is no problem with goods entering or leaving gaza...as i already showed you on several links.
Which is why gaza posted a record 7% economic growth in 2009.
And why 2009 was a record tourism year for the Palestinian authority- with 135,939 overnight hotel stays in 89 hotels.
Gaza already has a higher standard of living than most of the muslim world. Have a look:

The Palestinian economy is so good that even the Koreans are starting to take notice, lol.
Quote: |
Korean film eyes Palestinian market
The Korean ambassador to Palestine Chungnam Park on Thursday visited Ma'an News Agency headquarters and discussed airing Korean dramas on Palestinian television.
Editor-in-chief Nasser Laham said Palestinian TV was over-saturated with American imports and that he believed Korean dramas would be popular with Palestinian viewers, who he said were curious about the cultures of other nations.
Laham also noted that Korean productions were universally recognized for their professionalism.
Park invited Laham to visit Seoul and experience Korean traditions first hand. |

You can get squeezed around the neck and still be able to breathe. And those economic indicators may seem gaudy, but where did the Palestinians start after the wars and how much rebuilding has been required over the years? Their progress may well have been in spite of Israel, not because of it (or maybe it's more nuanced, I dunno).
Anyway, here's hoping for peace in the M.E.
p.s. I'm still waiting to see the luxury pics. |

In any case Otoh, I know your heart of gold bleeds for the poor and disadvantaged of the world and that alleviating poverty (as opposed to attacking Jews) is all that you care about.
Which is why I'm sure you'll be tearing your hair out over the 95% unemployment rate in Zimbabwe and sending your next paychek to people who actually are in trouble. ie not palestinians.

I already posted details of how israel has spurred and helped the Gaza development.
You seem to judge Israelis by an incredibly high standard it seems-expecting them to not only hand back territory won fair and square in war, but also to help their sworn enemies at the same time as being bombed and attacked by them.
Anyway, here's hoping for peace in the M.E.
Sure. So can you tell Hamas to stop sending their rockets over to kill Israelis?
Security camera footage of a Grad rocket barely missing a wedding in Netivot, Israel January 31st 2011.

Israel has an image problem which combined with my crew's image problem is becoming a rather large problem. If you can see what I'm getting at. |

Main problem you have is that nothing you do will ever stop muslims from conspiring to ultimately destroy you. You're deluding yourself if you think betraying your friends will somehow placate them.
Another problem is: western media is totally obsessed with Israel. So much so that other more serious problems in the world get sidelined. let me demonstrate this a little (figures according to Alertnet World media Tracker):
Dec 31st 2008: LRA kills 200 civilians, twisting the heads off the babies. Number of global media reports: 0.
Dec 31st 2008: Israel holds ceasefire talks with Hamas.
Number of global media reports: 40.
January 1-15th 2009: Israel's incursion into Gaza kills 929 Palestinians
Number of global media reports: 2896
January 1-15th 2009: LRA kills 865 unarmed civilians.
Number of global media reports: 20
Do you see anything wrong with this bias? The following makes excellent reading if you have time:-

Yes. but be glad that not only God, but Junior's people of choice are there to hold the hands of the ignorant Palestinians, lovingly ushering them into prosperity.
All at the cost of...um...80% of their land.
No Junior, I was not raised to be Anti-Semetic. Actually, I am not Anti-Semetic. I am anti-suffering. Anti-control, and pro-freedom.

Right. Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper, is publishing completely fake stats, fabricated by anti-semites, in order to dupe their mostly Israeli readership. And the readership just falls for it.

Got any stats on how much money the Lord's Resistance Army is getting from the US government? |
