Unemployment dropped to 9 percent.
That's good news. However, I'm not sure if I believe the numbers. |

Spice it up a little. Tell us who or what you think is responsible for this precipitous drop and why. |

Don't stop at spices, man. Add some greens too.....kengreens
....I'll get my coat.
The killer question is what jobs have caused the drop. If they're minimum-wage/part-time jobs, not such good news, alas. |

It's dropped primarily (so I hear) because so many have given up the hunt. |

Ahhh so people are basically just dropping out of the workforce. Worrying. Man, I wish I was a baby-boomer. Born at the wrong time, I was. |

I wouldn't be too concerned about the unemployment rate. 9% unemployment rate in the USA? I lost all the "recovery" hopes in the Republicans, Democrats, and the Federal Reserve Board.
Then again, I'm Canadian. |

The official unemployment numbers in the US don't count those no longer reporting into a state employment office seeking benefits and assistance finding a job. As you can imagine, millions aren't counted as they are off the government's radar. Some say 25% for a more realistic number, but I'd bet 15% are actually unemployed and 50% of the employed are chronically underemployed such as in part-time retail and service positions. It's not a career job seekers market in the 2000's. |
