Hello everyone,

My question is what to do next. I'm currently teaching ESL in America and I have the travel bug once again. I'm trying to decide if I should go back to Korea or try out Saudi Arabia. I wouldn't move till the end of the summer or later. I'm in the mood for adventure and personally, both would be interesting. My question relates to the employment options (not cultural or otherwise).

Do you think I should/can get a uni job in Korea? For anyone with experience teaching in Korea and Saudi Arabia, would I be better off working in the middle east? (lots more money) On the other hand, the vacation and pay at Korean Uni's sounds really good.

Here's my credentials:

1 year experience at a public school in Korea
1 year experience teaching adults in The United States
BA in Communications
**Going to get my CELTA or TEFL this summer, so hopefully that will be in my resume as well.

Not meaning to rain on your parade but truthful, with your qualifications, you have about the same chance as a snowball in Hades of landing a uni position from abroad unless you have some connections to get your foot in the door (in Korea or the ME).

With the current glut of economic refugees (including people with (related) MAs and/or teaching licenses) looking for work abroad you will be hard pressed to find anything better than the average entry level position.

If you do find one, grab it cause it won't last long.

the above comment is more or less correct...it'll be pretty hard to land a Uni gig if you aren't actually in the country (they do face to face interviews)...however, it could happen, so good luck!
