is so delicious wrote:
Sao Paulo (the restaurant) is my place for churrasco (if that's how you spell it). It's at the Seoul National University of Education stop, exit 14. Walk about a hundred meters- it's on your right, next to an eyeglass store, I think.

25,000W for the steak dilly, and 3,000 for all the beer you want.

I also quite liked this one when I went there. Several different courses of meat. Seemed like decent value.

people like brasilia? seriously? personally i thought it was a waste of money. the only thing that was good was the side dishes, rice and salsa. they just bring you steak. 3 different cuts when i went. just steak. no guys walking around with skewers of various meats. very meh.

mercado in apgujeong and copacabana in itaewon piss all over brasilia.

Yeah that's like totally mega ultra cool, but if you've never been to something comparably better, it's not as though Brasilia is some slop that's going to make you puke into your mouth and then give yourself a puke enema with the spittle. I'd drink it if it were made into a liquid.

good luck with that

Directions for these places? Many would like to know.

Mercado is opposite from Cinecity. You cross the street from cinecity and you'll see a Ho Lee Chow. Go straight into the alley and on your left you'll see on the second floor a sign reading Mercado. I also remember walking past a pho place on the right.

Copacabana is in that alley behind Hamilton Hotel with all the restaurants and bars. It's on the same side as the greek restaurant. I think it's opposite from My Chelsea. It's on the 2nd floor. Exit 1 or 2

Good to hear from some others about Brasilia. I wasn't trying to bust qiranger's chops about this video. I like his videos. It's just that so many other bloggers love everything about every restaurant and I didn't want to make a big trip there to be disappointed. You know what I mean.

How do you have time to go to restaurants when you post here 24 hours a day?

I didn't come to Asia to sit in my apartment and watch Law & Order:SVU. You must get out there and live.

I guess I'll put in my two cents since I'm a huge meat lover.

If you want something that is close to authentic Churrasco then Brasilia is not the place for you. It is good if you just want 3 different types of steak and all you can eat. You will be satisfy. I went to the one in Sinchon (downstairs from KFC, across the street from Hyundai Dept. Store) and it was decent. If you're going during the weekend, be prepare to ask for reservations because we were hoping for a walk-in but they said they were full.

I've been to Sao Paulo near SNU and in Hyewha... both are excellent restaurants. The Picanha (huge rump roast with fat on it) is their prize meat as it should be. The chicken neck/heart or whatever that is, is not for everyone. They do have ham, lamb and other types of steak if you prefer but go there for the picanha.

The negative part of both Sao Paulo restaurant is that it tends to be slow getting the meat to you. If you like something, ask them to cut some more for you because you're not going to see it for a while.

I'm hoping to go to Mercado (Apujeong) within the month... everyone says its probably the best "authentic" brazilian restaurant in Seoul. We'll see about that.

Thanks for the feedback. Isn't there a Brazilian meat buffet in Songtan?

My friend and I both threw up after eating at copcabana in Itaewon, though it was a big group and only two of us got sick. Could have just been straight over eating as we did pack it away.

I would also avoid the one in Hyehwa, it wasn't really all you can eat. It was only seven or so rounds of meat then they stopped.

The one in Hyewha I didn't know about. I remember going more than 7 rounds.

I was just asking because is that how everyone is treated, customer service wise, at that restaurant? Or was he treated better, in the video, because he's a blogger? Anyone who's been there, do you have an opinion?

With many expat food bloggers, they get awesome customer service at restaurants because they are known bloggers, and the rest of us get treated poorly. So many get burned by the always positive reviews by expat food bloggers that it seems like the bloggers work for the restaurants. Maybe all of us need to carry around cameras and tell every restaurant that we're food bloggers here to rate their restaurant. Maybe then there'd be some decent customer service at some of these places.

I'm curious what you saw in that video that related to customer service either good or bad...

"Known expat bloggers" i think you give them far too much credit. The majority of the business for places like Brasilia comes from Koreans not expats. And they could care less what the expat bloggers say. Unless of course you start writing stuff on Wingbus. Razz

The majority can be 51%. Ergo, that doesn't mean that they couldn't care less what the media in the language of the other 49% is saying.

Sao Paolo is the nice, the 3k beer deal is heavenly as well

Watch the video and see the prompt service. The tables and plates are kept full without waiting. The narrator even mentions it. That's excellent customer service and it doesn't happen everywhere.

I went to Mercado yesterday and it was very good. A lot better than Sao Paulo, especially if you sit next to the grill because you can just ask him for any meat and he'll give it to you. The foreign guys with the meat were really nice and kept the meat coming.

Mercado is definitely a nice place to go to. Reservations definitely needed because that place gets packed really fast.
