Deep Thought -

The sun comes up, the sun goes down. The tide comes in, the tide goes out. Never a miscommunication. That is why God exists.

You can't argue that logic.

Fox News is a bastion of higher logic and we'd all do well to believe it.

And higher knowledge, apparently - http://cloudfront.mediamatters.org/static/images/item/live-20090727.jpg

Let's kick this up a notch or seven:
Humphrey Bogart became the model of the man circumstances demanded, a reluctant everyday hero who finally rises to the occasion when pushed too far. The age-old debate about nature versus nurture overlooks the role of culture, and Bogart, both on and off the screen, is testimony to the fact that we become who we are in response to the times in which we live, that the times favor some traits, some people and some actors over others.

Bogarts appeal was and remains completely adult so adult that its hard to believe he was ever young. If men who take responsibility are hard to come by in films these days, its because theyre hard to come by, period, in an era when being a kid for life is the ultimate achievement, and adult as it pertains to film is just a euphemism for pornography.

Actually I recently feel the 'peak' intelligence approaching. I feel I've suddenly started to run up halla san, ready to reach the peak in a few years.

But right now, it's happening too fast, and I've become *very* contradictory about my own thoughts and beliefs, because every thought is being developed in some way that I'm not sure how to deal with. It doesn't help when I watch Zeitgeist 2 and read wikileaks and *real* views on the Egyptian revolution rather than BBC, and with a girlfriend very informed about politics - an area i've deliberately remained ignorant to until recently.

How do I feel... I feel... I don't know. Whatever I say, I will have another thought contradicting it. What does one DO in this situation? Other than commit suicide. I'm too generally happy. I'm not unhappy about these thoughts, it's just difficult.

When you speak of 'contridicting thoughts' do you mean critical thinking and self-introspection? I think you are in the natural process of learning about the world; and as for being at your 'peak', for every Hallasan there is a K2 or Everest somewhere else.

Whoever said the more you learn, the more you learn that you don't know anything is absolutely correct. And some other wise dude once said that a true wise man can understand and agree with two conflicting points. It's all a process of growing and understanding the world.

The first step which you've done, is doing away with traditional media. And a really true wise man/woman forms an opinion based on full information, and not simply regurgitating info from TV. Congratulations. You are one step closer to enlightenment.

Morality is not about love.

Can genuine love be immoral?

'I came to this world with nothing, and I leave with nothing but love. Everything is just borrowed'

I like this. I also don't. I'm one step closer AND farther from enlightenment, annoyingly.
