How many classes a week do you typically teach at a hagwon?

I think typical schedules are 100-120 class-hours a month, or 25-30 a week. Some places have classes that last more than an hour, so the number of different classes may be less than 25-30, but class contact hours would be in that range....

If you get an offer from a place that has shorter classes, but calculates a class meeting as less than an hour (for example, 3 40-minute classes counting as 2 class hours instead of 3 class hours) I would suggest avoiding that place, as that kind of schedule leads to burnout.

I'm not sure anymore, but when I first started working at a hagwon, it was 36 classes a week. Then in my second hagwon job it was 25. So I guess it can be anywhere in between.

There is no fixed rule.

Typically, an afternoon/evening hagwan will have you scheduled for 30 classes of 50 minutes per week.

A great many kindy hagwans will ask for up to 45 classes of 40 minutes per week (30 clock hours).

Some, like SLP, run a schedule of 21 classes of 80 minutes each (with a 10 minute break at mid - working out to 30 clock hours per week.

These however are NOT written in stone. I worked ( a long time ago) for a kindy that scheduled us for no more than 40 hours per week in the school and 30 classes of 40 minutes per week.

.

Varies. My kindy hangwon is 30 classes, 40 minutes a class. The number of classes varies each month with the changing schedule but it has never been more than 31 and is usually in the 25-30 range. So about 20 hours of actual contact time. Essentially 1/2 of the time I am physically in the building, I am not teaching. Admittedly, I have a pretty good hagwon that is rather easy on us.
