Yes. No matter how hard I smoke I don't reckon I could beat an internal combustion engine for pollution. Also, nobody suspects that my government goes to war to secure tobacco, whereas they do for the oil to secure petrol. |

Wrong forum pal, keep it for Current Affairs; back to making wise cracks about spotting people with Down Syndrome for you here.
Smokers are immoral. |

My mistake. Smoking helps stop the spread of Down's Syndrome.
Smokers aren't as immoral as the obese, as some posit. |

Sure, no problem.
Let no one say in his heart, "God cares not for sins of the flesh." "Do you not know," says the Apostle, "that you are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him will God destroy." "Let no man deceive himself." But perhaps a man will say, "My soul is the temple of God, not my body," and will add this testimony also, "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass." Unhappy interpretation! conceit meet for punishment! The flesh is called grass, because it dies; but take heed that that which dies for a time, rise not again with guilt. Would you ascertain a plain judgment on this point also? "Do you not know," says the same Apostle, "that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God?" Do not then any longer disregard sins of the body; seeing that your "bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God." If you disregarded a sin of the body, will you disregard a sin which you commit against a temple? Your very body is a temple of the Spirit of God within you.
I say Amen to that. |

ok well since not everyone here is religious im sure... one could only take what you say with a pinch of salt, but there is a certain truth to the passage you just quoted, and that is that it does damage your body.
i myself am a smoker and am looking at stopping though it has become such a part of my life, wake up coffee ciggie, have lunch ciggie, drink another warm drink ciggie, play epic game on pc ciggie and lets not forget drinking and smoking just happens ^_^
so going to be tough but sure going to do it |

I believe it when I see it. People smoke where they want. It won't change. |

1. You're quoting the New Testament. You are projecting your religious view of what is moral or immoral on to people, many of whom do NOT share your view of the bible or your religion. It is a religious view only, NOT an immoral one. Oh, by the way, Jesus and his disciples drank wine. Is drinking of wine a sin as well?
2. Wasn't that particular scripture addressing sexual misconduct. If so, you're expanding the specific context of the scripture. If you're going to do that then eating at McDonalds and any number of foods, actions, are 'immoral'. |

I once read in a Batman comic that smoking cures cancer, so smokers are amazing people. Later, it says that all are judged by Batman and those who do not accept Batman and his smoking laws are going to hell. I feel sorry for you and I will pray for you. :smug:
See!? If you can use your fantasy book to make moral judgments I will use mine. |
