The photo ain't that shocking. It might be a generational thing between me and you. I remember one of my friends was hung upside from a tree for 6 hours for a high school initiation, this was in 1992. I had to push a dang quarter across a highway with my nose. However a mere 2 years later my school banned all hazing rituals. I think it had more to do with the large influx of Asians at the time and some 'rituals' had racist undertones, than it had to do with human dignity. Also, the internet didn't exist back then, so it was harder to distribute embarrassing photos. |

Shocking? Hmm, looks more like a classic case of "boys will be boys" to me. |

This happened in my town. Not much of a big deal here to be honest. Bit of 'tut tutting' but the main topic of conversation seems to be about the father who bought his son a Lamborghini for graduating from Chungbukdae Univ.
I wish I had an old man like that. |

It's all fun and games until someone comes down with a case of baker's lung. |

It's hard to "shock" anyone these days. |

This crap serves absolutely no purpose. Korea is enough of a hazing society as it is, especially in the corporate world. |

HA!
Anyway, we had the police come last week to our school and give a presentation on proper graduation behavior. This particular picture is pretty tame considering that a group of girls decided to take nude photos of themselves that got passed around, a couple of students have been beaten to death, and a few suicides have been reported due to graduation "rituals." The past few years have been particularly bad and the schools and police have been working together to really crack down on this kind of behavior. |

That's true. It has been a continuous story in the news this year for the past couple of weeks. Hazing can be fun for everyone involved, but some people don't know when to stop and can take things too far. Let's hope no one gets hurt. |

Our teachers were required to stand in the area around our school in three hour shifts until midnight to make sure that something like this wouldn't happen. |
