f4 is not an employment visa. there are no questions that pertain to criminal background info, at least when i applied for mine. it's more about our ancestry.
the advantages of f4 far outweighs the disadvantages. the only issue i had when i first applied from abroad was that schools didn't want to hire me because they knew i had the power to walk away from any job i didn't like. if they are worried about that, then you don't want to work there in the first place. there's plenty of jobs over here that take f4. a lot of f4s freelance and work at different part time gigs.
schools won't want to hire you because you're not white, not because you don't have an e2 visa. you can be a gyopo/ibyang and have an e2 visa and they will still base their decisions off your photo. many people of color do the public school route, but that is not an option for you since they require a CBC regardless of visa status. |

Way to circumvent immigration law to become a teacher whilst having a criminal record. A theft and weapons charge no less. Good job making F4's look like criminals who come to their native country to exploit immigration law. You are the shining beacon of teachers abroad. If you couldn't get a teaching gig or job back home because of your criminal record, you think its morally ethical to come to another country (your OWN native country mind you) and exploit exclusive visa rights over those who have no criminal history? Sickening. Please don't teach in Korea. I'm sure there are plenty of McJobs or Walmart greeting positions you can apply for. |

You need to pump the brakes bro. I'm not some rapist or murderer. I had fun in college, that's it. I don't molest children, or want to circumvent the immigration system. I HAVE A RIGHT TO GET AN F4 visa, and it is a better way than an E2.
To see that you are making these types judgments makes it much clearer to me of how ignorant you are. Maybe you should stop teaching. Ignorant teachers produce ignorant students.
You obviously don't know who I am, but based on your reply, I know exactly what type of person you are. Just a terrible excuse of a human being. Don't reply with worthless messages that don't help anyone. I had a question to those who are willing to give me advice, and I appreciate those who have. But to you, I would appreciate if you just not reply, and keep living in that hell hole you call your life. |

You are circumventing immigration law by coming to this country and attempting to teach children whilst having a criminal background. How hard is that to understand kiddo? Do you think any school would hire you if you mentioned your criminal record? Absolutely not. Furthermore, you're coming here to become a TEACHER. What kind of precedent does that set for others who come here legally and w/ a clean record? No matter. Nearly all schools nowadays, public or private, require a FBI CBC to work. Good luck getting employment because in all likeliness your record will show up and its doubtful any schools hire you. In the happenstance you are hired and they find out, boy are you screwed. |

First off, pretty uninteresting and dull response. The last line you wrote was really stale.
Second, my record has no felonies, no violent crimes, no theft, nothing serious. You need to really pump the brakes, its not a big deal.
I asked you not to respond, because I knew your response was not going to enlighten anyone and probably was not going to be entertaining either. So that makes another worthless response.
If I have an F4, I can teach. Bottomline. Since I can get an F4, regardless of if I had a record or not, I would always choose to get the F4 every time. Please, this time, don't respond. |

Backhome, I think he was referring to the OP, who DOES have a criminal record.
As to you, backhome, you might have some difficulties. Anecdotal story. I know a guy, half korean, wanted to get his F4. I don't remember the exact order of how everything went, but his father had NOT renounced his Korean citizenship by the time he was born, so he was ineligible for the F4. But, he was not registered/given Korean citizenship, so he wasn't a citizen.
He asked immigration for the F4 and they said he was technically a citizen, and he couldn't have it. So he then asked for a Korean passport so he could come here and they said no, he was a foreigner and couldn't get it. This went in circles.
Long story short, you better do your research, and KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. That was big thing for this guy. Apparently, the K government didn't know the specifics of when the father had renounced his citizenship until the son told them, which then denied him the visa. So when you are doing your research, don't reveal any information unless you're SURE that it will help you. |

OP.
Just fyi, it is probably more difficult to get an f4 now than a few years back. I think it has to do with closing loopholes for military service.
A few people have been told they can't get it from the US, which shouldn't be true. |

The OP and the user "BackHOME" are the same person. He's already trying to 'save face' on an internet forum because he's revealed he has a criminal history and is trying to teach here with a rap-sheet. |
