Thanks everyone. You've been very helpful.

Also, if any of your friends are leaving and can't take their dogs, please let them know about this posting.

I have a friend who was looking for a home for a one year old terrier (sweetest dog ever). The dog was dumped on her by a woman who said, "I'll send the money to fly him to the U.S. next month" and never did. She already has a rescue dog and the two do NOT get along.

I'll give her a call and see if the dog is still looking for a home. He's a ridiculously cute little guy (he stayed with us for a few days), very child friendly, doesn't bark, housebroken. I'd love to see him get a good home since my friend just cannot keep him long term.

I wish I could take this little dog but between our dog, our cat and our toddler the inn is full.
