Who knows Samal Island, next to Davao?
I believe, I-am-me knows. Anyone else been there?
Thought I'd open up a thread. Generally the Philippines either has urban city without a beach, or beautiful island without a city.
But, been thinking that Samal Island combines both island with nearby beach.
How is the overall island of Samal? I went to one resort there, and it was alright. Just kind of basic by Philippines standards. But I haven't been around the island at all.
Are there some good mountains there like Mindoro? Or is it quite flat? Anyone taken a bike around it, or anything else.
Trying to learn more about this island, but not much about it in the general travel guides like Lonely Planet, etc. |

| I went to several resorts plus some falls about 20 drive from the pier. I know there are some caves and diving spots on the the south-western part, but havent had a chance to go there yet. On my bucket list. |

| i really loved samal island. the water by the beaches was incredibly beautiful blue-green. we went for a day and paid for day access at one of the resorts. maybe i would have stayed a night if i had to do it again. |
