Prices to Europe for this summer are crazy on most airlines, except Aeroflot which is about half the price of all the others. It seems that the Moscow-Paris leg is on a code share with Air France so that would be fine. However, I'm worried about the Seoul-Moscow leg.

Has anyone flown this route with Aeroflot? How was it?

You get what you pay for. They do get you from point A to point B for a really reasonable price. When I flew with them this winter, it was an older Boeing 767 on the Moscow- Seoul leg. (on the way to Europe I ended up on a Korean Air flight heading to Frankfurt because some weather problem in Moscow.
Legroom is barely enough (I'm 6'4") Luckily the seat next to me was empty, otherwise it would have been a nightmare. There is almost no entertainment during the flight. Ok there are small screens above the aisles, pretty old ones, one is green the other is grey etc. They played a russian movie with English subtitle but the screen is so small, impossible to read. They also played an American movie from 20 years ago. Don't expect to see a single smile from the crew. They don't speak much English, even if they do, they keep talking in Russian. The avarage age of fligt attendants was close to 50. Not such a big problem but compared to Korean Air it's just pathetic. Moscow airport itself is a madness too. Run down terminal with no enough staff, lack of English speakers.
If you want to save a few hundred dollars and put up with these inconveniences, they are a good choice.

What's the cheapest price you've found for Aeroflot? I looked on their website and they seem reasonable. Most of the airlines will be having their 'early bird' deals in March/April so you might want to wait a bit. Thai Airways and Malaysian Airlines are usually the cheaper ones.

The reality is, Aeroflot no longer use the Russian built Ilyushin aircraft on Seoul - Moscow. They now use western built aircraft, so it is not dissimilar from going on any other airline. The service and entertainment has never been good, but you save in the price. The transit experience in Moscow Шереметьево airport has never ever been pleasant either. But generally you are only there for a few hours max, so it is not a big deal.

Yeah I've flown Aeroflot, I recall the air hostess getting quite short with some filthy Indian whelp for not putting on the seat-belt.

Also agree with the above that Sheremetyevo (see I can read Cyrillic script too) isn't a nice airport. I also had a wee run-in with the folk at Pulkovo airport in St Petersburg. They didn't believe I was the person in the passport photo.

The airport transfer is a death trap. They just release all the passengers into a six lane terminal (with no staff so everyone runs through) that runs into a single passage. Everyone is pushing and screaming that they have a flight to catch, so everyone feels justified with their need to ram into the person in front. What they don't know is that the passage in question which is barely a metre wide, has a left turn at the end (3 metres away) and there everyone is searched again and all baggage scanned. No-one knows this is happening, so people push the line, which makes the security people at the other end get angry that people seem to be trying to jump the security area. As i said, no-one tells people this, or as i witnessed, no-one is there to stop the 6'4" man from grabbing a 65 year old man by the throat and threaten to punch him because he wanted to make his flight and get through the free for all.

This are some mild examples

friend of mine ended up stranded in the airport terminal on his way home to London just a few weeks ago. One of the planes broke down. He made it through a day of waiting before deciding to book another flight.

What everyone said above and then some. I'd like to think I'm pretty reasonable when it comes to standards, but once with Aeroflot was enough. Never again.

I missed a flight with them and had to pay almost $300 to reschedule for the following day. When I tried to call their office I tried 3 different numbers and no one ever answered. I've heard about them losing luggage and never returning it. I wouldn't choose Aeroflot again.

I was going to fly Aeroflot but this thread might have made me change my mind.

If you are Canadian you can check out redtag.ca or galatravels.com for good flight deals.

When I was looking last week I saw that Galatravels had an Aeroflot flight from Seoul to Amsterdam for just over 500 Canadian, taxes in. Everything else was twice the price.

I have flown them a few times, airplanes are old, but the food is good. The old airport is shitty (still allows smoking in the terminals), the new one is nice.

For cheap flights also check out finair
