Some schools have positions that start mid-year around January or February. I've even seen positions advertised in the late fall. So, it is possible though you probably won't find a top tier school advertising mid-year.
Someone posted a great list of international schools in Korea a while back on this forum. I'll try to find the link and post it. |

| wikipedia and www.ibo.org would be a good place to start. With a teaching license you can teach at American, British, etc schools. |

Rule #1 Never Listen to Naturegirl she doesn't have a clue what she is talking about AGAIN!
Whereas Smurfetta mentioning Search Associates and their job fair does have knowledge!

Ultimately, if you are serious about finding a position and plan on attending a fair then you should sign up with a recruiter like Search associates. As a previous poster has said you are pretty late searching but there are still fairs in the spring time so you still have a chance at getting a position for the next school year.

DODEA and Search Associates are your best bets. You can always call up each international school too but if you use SA they can build the bridge for you into oppportunities that are otherwise closed.
DODEA

There are many base schools where fully credentialed teachers from America (not Canada) can get teaching jobs to teach social studies. Complete the forms through the DODEA office in Virginia and then your application will be in the database that principals pull from to fill these jobs.
Search Associates:
This recruiting firm places over 90% of the teachers/ administrators for overseas international schools and if you can attend their job fair there is a good likelihood you would get hired on the spot.

Here's their fair webpage

I know they have one each year in SF
Good Luck! |

These job fairs everybody keeps mentioning -- I assume they are for job-hunters in North America?
I'm already teaching full-time here in Korea.
Surely international schools don't only consider applicants at job-fairs 10,000km away?! |

Thanks for all the tips everybody! I have a feeling this is going to be difficult! Seems like since international schools are private schools, most of them are either linked to the military or religion. I'm not particularly comfortable working in either of those situations. Maybe I'll be better off just doing the ESL thing in the public boards for one more year.
Anyways, I'll be sure to check out all the links and everything everyone has so kindly provided.
Thanks again! |
