Been a while since we had a good Costco thread.

A Monday morning visit to Costco and I saw cupcakes in the bakery section! They looked like a gift from heaven and they are priced at 18 for 15,900. There was also Sacher pie! Also there are two big sales I'd like to list. The first lasts until 2/27 and it includes some popular items-
4,000 off Tim Tam variety pack
3,000 off two large cans of Campbell's New England Chowder
3,500 off a 6-pack of Campbell's Chunky Clam Chowder soup
3,500 off a 12-pack of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup
2,500 off Pepperidge Farm Chocolate Chunk cookies
2,500 off Pepperidge Farm Cookie Collection 4 pack
2,500 off 2 large bottels of V8
and 2,000 off 2 bottles of Pace Picante sauce which is my favorite deal in the bunch considering the cost of Picante sauce in other stores.

There's also a Costco P&G sale that is happening at the perfect time for many to stock up.
There are two parts to the sale. Until 2/27, there are discounts on-
Oral B Electric Toothbrushes and replacement heads
Tide powder with Bleach
Gillette Mach 3 Turbo razors and cartridges
Febreze Air Effects
Duracell batteries
Oral B toothbrushes and floss
Pantene
and some other P&G products

From 2/28- 3/13
Febreze fabric Refresher
Gillette Fusion Razors and cartridges
Oral B Kids products
More Pantene
Herbal Essences
Duracell products
and other P&G products

Hopefully this information can help someone plan their shopping.

If someone wants to split the cupcakes and cost. I'd be willing to meet up and do so. They're just too much for a couple to eat out. I wish they came in a 10 pack!

You're right. They're even too big to carry in a Costco bag, and those bags are BIG.

They look like a plain muffin with frosting. Doesn't mean I don't want to sample it though Laughing .

You can buy this stuff on sale at Costco or at other stores at a much higher price. The choice is yours.

lol. My thoughts exactly. Wink I go to Costco for vinegar, olive oil and wine, though. (I'm sure the wine doesn't help...just as well that even half way decent stuff is dear here).

I thought that more of you would be talking about the sale on Pace Picante sauce. The 2,000 won off make two bottles cost 6,900.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salsa_(sauce)
Quote:
Picante sauce is often chunkier than generic salsa. Picante is a Spanish adjective that derives from picar, which means "to sting", referring to the feeling caused by salsas on one's tongue (compare the English word piquant).

You can do so much with it including: eat it with chips, add it to burgers, chicken, or eggs, or almost anything you choose that needs some spicy flavor.

Those cupcakes are amazing. I bought one of those last year, only to discover that my GF at the time didn't like cupcakes. I ended up inviting people over just to take cupcakes before they went stale.

That's 17 more cupcakes then I need. They sound good though. I'm still waiting on a replacement for my damn granola bars.

I'm all up on that Pace Picante sauce, love a spicy salsa for chicken, eggs and patty melts. And I could easily eat all 18 cupcakes, but luckily I have the good sense and willpower to not buy them. 18 giant delicious cupcakes in the USA would cost $25, not $13.50 like they are in Korea. Amazing. And people say food is expensive here?

I bought the cupcakes for a friend's going away party. Half are chocolate, half are yellow cake. They are a bit heavier than what you might get from a typical American recipe or Dunkin Hines mix, but the frosting is whipped into a light and delicious pleasure that more than makes up for any lack in the actual cake. They were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Now, the really special thing that I noticed this month:

Weber grills and Smokey Joe's.

If I had a rooftop space, I would be certain to snap one up.

We're talking about Costco here. Prices are similar in the US at Costco. http://www.costcob.com/Sheet-Cakes-and-Cupcakes-from-Costcos-Bakery
