No. I thought about it, and decided it wouldn't be fair to my remaining rat. He's lonely, and any attention that given to a dog would make him depressed. He was never one for getting his face stroked, and now he can't get enough of it. He misses his friend.  We're trying to keep him happy and enriched, so I'll wait until he passes to get a dog. He's already nearly 2 years old, and they live from 2-4 years (though 4 is pushing it) usually.

actually, Western Slavs, meaning most of them outside of Russia use the Latin alphabet and have always done so, since all of them adopted Western Christianity. You need to SERIOUSLY tighten up your research.
(and Slovak, would be the language of Slovakia, which uses the latin as well
Slovenian, the language of Slovenia, uses Latin as well)
which leaves Slovonia
Slavakia only exists in your imagination. As does Slovonia.

once the gi's leave yongsan It will be a start.
then some buildings need to come down, prices to need to double in rents to get all the riff raff out of the neighborhood and then maybe 10-20 years from now we might see Itaewon half decent. until then. It's trash! |

Correct me if my understanding of the Seoul real estate market is lacking, but won't that mean that there's pretty much no where affordable anywhere in the city? |

not only that, but then it'll look the same as every other Seoul neighborhood, which looks like every other Seoul neighborhood which looks like every other bigger city in Korea.
I'll take Itaewon with its shadiness and sleaze (I actually appreciate that somewhat), stay out of obviously stupid situations and enjoy the "character" of the neighborhood which is different and distinctive from everywhere else in Seoul (and Korea) (with exception of Hongdae) |

Slovonia does exist ( it is just called Croatia now). None of those Slav countries can be seperate enties' because of annexation purposes that happened way back in 1930s' and what Yougoslavia did.
Look in wikapedia..Oh and Russians' aren't as ethinically oppressed as our ancesotors' were.

the only Slavs that use the Cyrillic alphabet are Russians and Serbs. Not coincidentally, they are also the only Slavs that didn't adopt Western Christianity, but Eastern.
You can also note that although the Serbs and the Croats use the same language, they use different alphabets, with once again the Serbs being Eastern Orthodox and the Croats Catholic. |

yes, read it all and you would be correct about the Eastern ( Serbian Orthodox as the Christian ( Orthodox) only makes up about 2% of the entire population between Slovonia, Serbia and Hungary.
For example, at our Serbian Church, both Catholism and Eastern Orthodox is praticed because the deacon is of Russian Ethnicty ( makes sense), so techinally Slovs don't have there own religon either.
Anyways, Vagabound- In conclusion, if you want to sound educated when speaking; use the formal ( cyrptic) dialect; as the rest are strickly just regional and unformal ( kako si versus kako se)

Religously, one is free to go anywhere down this Orthodox path when choosing a husband for marriage, but the children would need to keep the Slav ( Croatian) dispora going for the most part. |
