The Guardian reported that Davis -- despite Obama's description of him as "our diplomat in Pakistan" -- actually works for the CIA, and further noted that Pakistani officials believe he worked with Blackwater. When reporting that, The Guardian noted that many American media outlets had learned of this fact but deliberately concealed it -- because the U.S. Government told them to: "A number of US media outlets learned about Davis's CIA role but have kept it under wraps at the request of the Obama administration."
Now it turns out that The New York Times -- by its own shameless admission -- was one of those self-censoring, obedient media outlets. |
The more things change...
In 1977, reporter Carl Bernstein, famous for uncovering the Watergate story, wrote about exactly such happenings in

Quote: |
Faced with growing allegations that this was the case, the US admitted today that US Consulate Employee Raymond Davis, currently held in a Lahore prison facing double murder charges, is indeed a CIA employee.
Despite referring to him since his arrest as a technical advisor and despite President Obama referring to him as our diplomat, Davis is confirmed as a contractor to the CIA, and is responsible for providing security to CIA spies who travel in Pakistan.
Incredibly, the US is still demanding that Davis be released without charges and insists that he is entitled to diplomatic immunity because, even though he was actually a spy, he is still officially (though apparently fraudulently) listed as a member of the embassys technical staff.
Needless to say, Pakistani officials insist they dont intend to release Davis over the demands, and that his diplomatic status is purely in the hands of the court system. The Davis situation sparked outrage across Pakistan, and has sparked even more anger about the US, and more paranoia about US spies roaming the streets of Pakistani cities.
The latest twist in the case will also fuel additional discussion about the increasing US use of embassy personnel as spies, and the blurring of the line between the two professions. WikiLeaks cables revealed massive spying and surveillance operations spanning embassies across the globe. |

Many Pakistanis are outraged at the idea of an armed American rampaging through their second-largest city. Analysts have warned of Egyptian-style protests if Davis is released. |
The US acts like a drunk asshole pushing his way around the world pissing off everybody he comes in contact with yet is totally unable to see how his behaviour is impacting his reputation and safety.
I listened to an interview with the former head of the Pakistani ISI last week. He asserts that the US is working to undermine Pakistan and he can't understand why. The US needs a "friendly" Pakistani government to keep supply lines open yet is bombing the life out of hoards of civilians and ensuring that Pakistan will turn against itself and America.

Apparently, they are bent on unleashing a world war, and a destabilized Pakistan fits the bill nicely.
How can you have listened to the first half of that interview and still not come over to "our side" on 9/11? Or is Gul Hamid only credible on Pakistan but not 9/11? |

But the reason that Wikileaks is not a good idea is that Assange is an MK-Ultra operative working for his masters, Soros and the CIA. Listen to Webster Tarpley on Alex Jones. |

OK, so you've progressed to the agnostic point of view. I still have faith in you. |

OK, but before I read the second one, you must listen to Tarpley. He even talks about how Wikileaks must break some real stories to gain credibility before going in for the kill. |

I'm very familiar with Tarpley's opinion. I listen to part 1 of WCR every week. I don't think he's credible/reliable on balance. His description of Wikileaks hasn't changed at all. He does not adjust his opinion with additional facts. He is interesting/fun to listen to though. |

Um... that's not what it says at all! The summary is accurate, if you check the link.
"To support French efforts to provide equal opportunity for
minority populations, we will engage in positive discourse;
set a strong example; implement an aggressive youth outreach
strategy; encourage moderate voices; propagate best
practices; and deepen our understanding of the underlying
causes of inequality in France. We will also integrate the
efforts of various Embassy sections, target influential
leaders among our primary audiences, and evaluate both
tangible and intangible indicators of the success of our
strategy."
EDIT:
Also, if you do check out the link, tell me if Assange's picture on the "KEEP US STRONG" banner is getting to be a bit like Dr. Evil |

The strategy is to weaken France in the same way the US has been weakened. Fracture it demographically. Break majority rule with platitudes about opportunity and equality and come up the middle with an aggressive and intense group strategy.
Why the hell would the USA promote minority rule (read the last sentence) in a foreign country. What business is it of the US? Why was the US so aggressive in trying to get Turkey into the EU? Think about this. |
