South Korea DID offer to send personnel to assist in the rescue / cleanup effort. I read an article in Yonhap a short time ago.

"South Korea had also planned to dispatch a team of 22 rescue workers, but called off the plan after New Zealand declined to accept the team saying there are too many rescue workers at the scene already, according to the National Emergency Management Agency."

The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs identified the names of the two missing South Koreans in Christchurch and yet they're not planning to help the rescuing effort?

China DID send rescue / cleanup teams, & 23 of their nationals are still missing, presumably in the CTV building. This horrible event looks like it will be NZ's worst natural disaster ever, & will have the grisly 'honour' of eclipsing Napier in the early 1930's. One report I read said that one of the Japanese students was from Kobe & survived the 1995 quake there in which 6,000 died. Another student was from Kyoto, a city I visited just over 3 weeks ago.

Yeah Chris, but they only came in and offered help when it was known that there were Chinese victims.

Australia and the US made offers on the same day, not realising yet that they may have victims there.

Its a slight difference I know, but it does make you wonder a little.

China's still better than South Korea in my book.

And this time: earthquake of 4.5 magnitude near Wellington.

Well I am not so sure.

This was a comment made to another by a poster on another forum.

"John Chan wrote: "@Artemis, China needs to defend against predatory imperialist USA and its lackey war criminal Japan, and imperialist wannabe India, Australia and Vietnam. The USA and its lackeys are experts of blaming the victim; they are wolves in sheep skin, devils in human faces but the hearts of a beast. The battle of defending China is a battle of the survival of Chinese against the ruthless aggressors of the US and its gang of bandits."

I am not so sure I want people who think that way to assist my country. Listen, NZ gives OZ shit, Oz gives NZ shit. Though no Aussie I have ever met would ever say or think that about NZ. (If you attack Oz, you attack NZ - we are the double ZZ gang). (Though you know who has the Capital Z?).

Well, no real Aussie would. The ties between our countries is one of acceptance more than hate. Also I have lived in Korea a few years and while most Koreans are self absorbed at times, they dont think that way.

So I would accept Korea to help my country over a person who feels that way about my country. Even if they are slow to offer assistance.
