Correct me if i'm wrong, but this system seems to reward people lying about their taxes.

Let's say I really make $60,000 a year but I claim I only make $30,000, I get rewarded in my taxes cuz I easily spend 20% of the 30,000 i claim I make.

Yet the man who saves most of his salary gets punished for not spending 20% of his income? I don't understand this weird system.

He doesn't get punished, he just doesn't get extra deductions.

The tax system rewards people who keep money moving, not those who hoard it.

That's your own fault for not registering your purchases. If you're not using a check card you can use the cash receipt card that merchants have to swipe to register any cash payments you make. So yes, you do get punished for not partaking in the system properly.

Technically my fault yes, but most of us didn't have this problem before. Nor are most of us encouraged or told of this system. In fact I was told by Koreans before that this system didn't apply for us.

As far as I know you've always been able to partake in this system as long as you don't choose the 15% flat tax amount.

I'm topped out in EPIK, I am at W2.9 million, they used to take out about W200k, and I took home in the neighborhood of W2.7. Now all of a sudden, I'm taking home W2.5 million. WTF?!? On top of which, my rent is W600/month. After I signed my contract for another year, all of the sudden out of the blue, they will only pay W400k, I have to pay the other W200k/month. Has this happened to anyone else? Suddenly, I'm taking home W400k less home a month! Evil or Very Mad
