I was with EPIK in Gangwon-do from Feb 2010 to Feb 2011. I then did a completely new application for EPIK Seoul (SMOE) for this upcoming school year. My current contract ends today, Feb 25th, my new Seoul one starts March 2nd.

My questions are:

1. On my severance payment should I pay taxes (i turned in that tax exempt form and have not paid taxes on any of my paychecks)

2. Should I receive an exit allowance of 1.3 million won? (There seems to be some confusion with this).

3. Should I get an entrance allowance of 1.3 million won? The two offices are completely unrelated, I had to turn in a completely new application, diploma's, apostille'd background checks etc so it is NOT a renewal.

1. No. If you are tax-exempt, you should not pay tax on your severance.
2. Depends entirely on the wording in the contract with your former school.
3. Depends entirely on the wording in the contract with your new employer.
