|
|
Hey i'm breaking my crappy contract and leaving Korea. I'll be moving to Taiwan and was wondering how abouts I should cancel my visa before leaving korea, so my shady employer doesn't do it himself and have me blacklisted for life!
The catch is, I have my visa on my canadian passport, but will be traveling to Taiwan on my British PAssport (I hold duo citizenship) since my CANADIAN one is expiring in 2 months and also due to the fact the Taiwan gov't lets ppl stay 90 days as tourist vs. only 30 days if u enter with a canadian passport. I clearly prefer to now travel with my UK PAssport.
Any advice how I could cancel this visa while i'm here and not at customs since it would prolly cause confusion and questions if I was there with 2 passports in my hand lol.
thanks everyone ) |

Leave Korea. Hand in your ARC on the way out and get your exit stamp in your Canadian passport = visa canceled.
Enter Taiwan on your UK passport (leave the Canadian one in your pocket) and enjoy life.
side note: you can't use your UK passport to exit from Korea since it won't have an entry stamp into Korea so leave it in your pocket till you get to your next destination.

If you go to Korean immigration early and show them a one-way ticket out of the country then they should cancel your visa without having your employer present.
Actually I did the same thing and I'm teaching in Taiwan right now. If you need any advice let me know. Make sure you come here to Taiwan on a 60 day visitor's visa or else you will have to leave Taiwan again to apply for a work permit here. |
